Hi all,
I have a Radion Force here, with newer style monitor and new HD. Go to power the game up, and the game reacts for a second (fans blow, LED's light), but then it shuts off. The power supply shuts down, according to my meter. Is this a power supply issue, or is the motherboard shutting down the power supply? Anybody know what I am dealing with here?

Thanks,
-Mike

More than likely your motherboard is dead. If this is indeed the problem contact this guy and he will fix for $100. Or you can buy one from him.

I currently have a board there being repaired. I can let you know how it goes if you wanted to wait. You can try just talking to him as well to see if is actually your board at least.

After it shuts down, short the green and black wires on the atx connector going to the motherboard. If your cpu fan spins then I would lean toward a bad motherboard. If you have a decent solder station you can try changing any domed capacitors. However I only recommend doing this if you are fairly a experienced solderer. Also you can pull your power supply apart and check for domed caps in it also, especially if its fan has failed.

Follow what he just said, soldering on them boards is way different then doing a cap kit on a monitor, the traces a super close and very easy to damage.

I used Dave last week for a Force board. He seems to kick ass. He is recommended often by Ken Layton and that's good enough for me. His turn times are awesome. In and out in one day!

Just got mine back today, quick and it actually works perfectly. My find of the year.
