I have a Megatouch Force Radion with 2008 software (SN 03180200200341) and Tatung monitor.
When I (attempt to) power it up, I no longer get video at all.

Upon investigation, these are the indicators that I have:
After I hit the power switch:

- CPU fan starts breifly, then stops
- On Video Remote Adjustment Board, LED (D891) turns green for a few seconds
then turns amber
- On motherboard, red LED 1 (R77) lights up and stays lit
- On motherboard, green LED 2 ( corner of board by CMOS battery and jumper wire J2)
lights breifly then goes off
- Monitor stays dark
- DBV powers on and stays on

I measured the voltage on my CMOS battery (CR2032) and it was less than 1 VDC, so I replaced it.
-No change

I unplugged the monitor from the motherboard and powered it on.
- Grid test patterns were present

I am not sure where to go from here. Any ideas?

Thanks...

As long as your power supply is in good shape and you don't have caps going bad on the mother board, you probably only need to hook up a keyboard and power up the board, hitting the delete key to enter the bios settings. Check under the power setting and reset the lost power state to power on. That should get you up and runnning again. If the game won't stay running long enough to set your bios, just jumper the green wire coming from the power supply to the mother board to either of the black wires right next to it....that will keep the power supply running long enough for you to set your bios again.

also check to see if one of the fans is bad,it will shut down the motherboard as soon as it is powered
there are 2 in the bottom of the cab that usually go bad
i have fixed about 10 with this problem
you can find out by unplugging the fans

Also try reseating/cleaning the security key. Mine will not boot unless I wiggle the key. I still need to clean it up.

I will reiterate what cbuschief said. Try to jumper the power supply first to get it booted before you mess with anything else. Once the cmos battery dies, the motherboard forgets the setting to turn on with power. I had one that did exactly the same thing you mentioned. Once I jumpered it, it turned on. I replaced the battery and went into bios settings to make it turn on when power is applied.

Thanks for your willingness to help. I jumpered the green wire from the power supply to the motherboard to a black wire next to it, and nothing changed. I also observed the fans in the bottom of the cabinet, and they were not spinning, so (as per one of the other suggestions) I unplugged the fans (and wigggling the security key), and again there ws no change. I removed the fans, and checked them on a 12 V battery, and they spin. So I am starting to think that it could be a power supply??? How do you check to see if the supply is bad? It seems that it has to be working a little (other voltages?) since a couple of LEDs remain lit, and the DBV stays powered up.
BTW, I also looked at the caps on the mother board, and none of them "look" swollen or mis-shaped... If there is another method to determine of the caps are bad (short of farad measurement? [unless I can do it with my Fluke meter]) let me know.

the bill unit works off 110ac so it is independent of the power supply. Change your power supply.

Sorry for the late response... I had to shelf the project for a while. When I did get back to working on it, cbuschief was right... :)

It was my power supply... Thanks...

BTW, when I finally got the system back up I noticed that the picture is "out of focus". It looks like the color jets are not exactly lined up.
I read on a different thread about doing a static convergence by adjusting three sets of rings on the neck of the tube. Is that most likely what I need to do to correct this?

adjust the focus on the flyback control...its the top pot on the flyback. Its a little tricky to get to since the support for the motherboard hides the flyback somewhat.
