Just bought a megatouch at an auction.. worked great there.. get it home and plug it in.. there is a HUGE glow in the rear glass tube.. very very loud hissing/arching... i of course unplug it immediately... I have checked all cables and also made sure verything is fit tight and correctly.. when this happens is this a common simple problem with a quick fix?... only asking because the monitor was dam near brand new quality like it was barely used when I played it at the auction. Any help would be great.. and I can make a quick 2 second video of it if you think its ok without blowing it up in my face or doing any or more damage.

dam, well so much for a nice megatouch.. lol.. I do have a nearly the same size ELO touchscreen LCD I decased from a kiosk.. its VGA and USB for the touchscreen part so I wonder if there is a way I could use that? Im guessing I would have to get a cga to vga board.. but not sure how the USB touchscreen hooks up

Here is the one I got.. i guess its a Midway Touch Master.. thought it was a megatouch.. ... I also got a LCD touchscreen that I can use a serial from the board output to the LCD.. anyone done this conversion.. how to install ELO drivers.. and so on? just curious in case I go this route

Check to make sure the ground wire from the touchscreen is attached to the monitor frame. If not, it will arc to anything metal. Sometimes that will cause the monitor to shutdown until power is cycled again.

I had this happen with a monitor I was using for my test bench and got shocked a couple times before I figured it out...
