Megatouch Gametime upgrade to Force Evo possible? hardware / firmware difference?

I recently purchased a used Megatouch Force EVO and upgraded it to 2009.5 software. It's working great, and I love it. A family member has a megatouch gametime unit that was purchased a few years ago and they really enjoy the newer games on my machine. I was hoping to upgrade their gametime in a similar manner so I recently bought a force 2009.5 upgrade kit with a new, unused security key and tried to upgrade it. After booting from the disc I get a message that won't allow this software to install on the machine.

The hardware inside this unit looks identical to that of my megatouch force evo machine. (Same ASUS mainboard, same I/O board, same FORCE splash screen at boot).

How is a Gametime system different from a megatouch? Is the bios on the mainboard different? Is there some other security chip / eprom flashed on the I/O board? Is there any way to obtain the right part to install (or swap out) in this Gametime so I can upgrade it in this manner?

I am aware of the ability to purchase new games for the gametime system, but given the delta of games in my 2009.5 force evo machine vs. the gametime machine's games, it seems like the cheaper way to go is to upgrade in my desired manner.

Thanks!

I have many coin-op merits, but zero gametime units. Still, my opinion, based on what heir web site says, is; no, regular update kits will not work. At least not without some some hackery of some kind. Their web site says update packs are available for download on connected machines- might be what you are after. Good luck.
