I recently acquired 3 megatouch upright games. I need some info on how to hook up all the wiring to the motherboards. The machine in question is a megatouch maxx with a sapphire board. I can't find anything online. Any help is much appreciated.

You can't have looked very hard, that info is all over the place. Aren't they labeled as well?

Anyway, just google megatouch maxx manual or something.

Monitor issue or not?

I have power to a Megatouch Maxx machine with a Ruby HD and key. All the screen shows is lines across it. There is a light on the mother board, you can hear HD running. Not sure where to go from here. I have included pics of screen and boards. I believe I have all wires attached but not sure if I am missing some as this was not put together, parts were in a tupperware container. If you have a pic of yours, that would help.

If battery on motherboard is dead, would that effect startup? This is my first time with these machines and I don't know the quirks these have. I just hope that boards are not toast.

No, it's just like a regular computer. The machine should start up but give you a CMOS error or something like that. On mine, if I remove the battery, it tells me I have to press F1 to continue because the date and time aren't set. After that, it's fine.

If you have everything hooked up correctly and all you get is a blank screen, that suggests to me that you might have a bad motherboard. Even if the HD is removed, the machine should still boot the BIOS.

You could also have a bad power supply that's not feeding the MB all the necessary voltages it needs.

Monitor problem and not motherboard?

Was wondering if a monitor problem is to blame for the game (or any error message) not showing up. I was looking at the monitor pcbs and saw that the caps had "stuff" around the bottoms. Is this from factory or blown caps? These are tatung chassis. Wondering if recapping might help? I have 2 machines and both have this issue. Pic 1 is screen problem. pic 2-4 is cap issue.
Also, is there a way to tell if game motherboard is toast? A way to test?

thasts just glue used to hold the caps on during assembley.

the wy to tell for sure would be to hook a different games video up to the monitor and test.. or if its a vga monitor jut hook it up to a pc or something else with vga output..

what does your +5 and +12 test at with a meter?

I have been in contact with a tech from meritind and I believe the motherboard(s) are toast. Will try a replacement and see what happens.
