Hello,
I have recently procured a bar-top Megatouch Force Radion 2005. When I power on the machine, the dollar bill unit and monitor always power on correctly (The monitor will show a test pattern if I disconnect the vga connector from the mother board, and the dollar bill unit makes a couple mechanical sounds and the green arrow lights flash).
I understand the motherboard is powered by a separate PC-type power supply. Sometimes when I flip the power switch, the motherboard lights and cpu fan start up for less than a second, then turn off. When I flip the power switch off, the lights will sometimes blink again and the fan will spin once or twice (I think that probably occurs because some capacitors are discharging).
Sometimes, the motherboard does power up and the Fusion BIOS screen comes up and it freezes there. I have tried connecting a PS2 keyboard to the purple connector to reset the bios settings, but the keyboard does not seem to be receiving any power (num lock/caps lock lights do not turn on). Fusion BIOS screen sometimes turns off and the screen goes black, sometimes I see the next BIOS screen listing all the IRQs and devices connected etc. , then it freezes. Sometimes the motherboard will just power down by itself during this boot process (Fan/lights turn off).
I have replaced the motherboard once and basically the same options persist. None of the capacitors on the current motherboard are bulging (the old board also did not have bulging capacitors). Very rarely, the game will fully boot into the games and everythings seems to fully function (sound, touchscreen work). However, if the game is left on for an extended period of time, the motherboard turns off.
The same issues persist if I disconnect all the IDE connectors from the motherboard, if I connect a different hard drive, if I change dip switches, or if I hold down the two buttons on the Merit USB i/o board to attempt to reset all system settings.
Basically, the motherboard rarely turns on, and if it does, it rarely boots beyond the first couple BIOS screens.
Could it be the motherboard Power supply? Any thoughts or troubleshooting hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
