I have a Megatouch force 2007 that has been running flawlessly for almost 3 years. Then , when I turned it on the other day, it came up as a Maxx. That I could probably live with, but the touchscreen doesn't work with it booting as a Maxx. I did the dip 4 and 7 clear thing, and that works, but when it reboots, it shows "Megatouch Maxx, loading.....", so I know that the I/O board at least appears to be working. Any suggestions or ideas on this issue????

That is a very strange issue. The reason the touchscreen is not working is because the force touchscreen controller does not work with Maxx. Which leads me to believe your system is loading as maxx. But whats odd, is you said it is 2007 force. I believe the last version of Maxx was crown, which is 2006. Very odd. Also, if it was your touchscreen, you would get the touchscreen not found error.

I would do a complete reinstall of the software. If you need the dvd image to burn to disc, there is a site here somewhere that has them.

there is no Maxx bios image. the software is not detecting the force hardware correctly. reinstall the software

I should have stated bios "logo" as I thought one of mine displayed the maxx logo w/o hard drive plugged in but I am still likely wrong. just wanted to clear my statement up.

Why would a force display maxx logo at any point?

Edit>>yea I am not crazy . I don't have a HD hooked up in this part and it definitely displays the maxx logo. Granted I am using maxx hardware but possible they never change the logo "image"??

after I changed bios to disable quick selftest you basically get just the bios logo image as an example

this happened to mine too...if you have a force and you don't have a force touchscreen controller, it'll boot up as a maxx.

if you have a force, you must use a force (black) touchscreen controller

But he didn't mention anything about a touchscreen controller error. That would be the first thing that pops up on the screen.

the screen displays MAXX and not FORCE, and the H2H category is missing

When the game is turned on, it will check the type of touchscreen
controller, motherboard and hard drive. If one of these does not match
with FORCE hardware, the game will power up and display "MAXX" on
the screen and it will not have the H2H category.

Make sure the game is only using FORCE hardware.
