Hi all, have searched this forum but cant find anyone who has had the same problem as me.
I didn't turn my machine on for a few weeks, when i did...nothing. Checked on forum and it all pointed to replacing battery on motherboard, this i did and when i turned machine back on it went through the loading screen then up popped a message saying "machine out of service.please do not insert money". Am i missing something here? I have rebooted several times as per technical manual but still no joy. Can anybody please point me in the right direction. Many thanks.

Maybe the date on the machine?
you can try dip 4 & 7. that will do a factory reset. you will loose your scores but it may get the game going again.
Try the date first.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have reset the clock to the correct time and also the factory reset but still no joy, same message keeps coming up. Have you or anybody else got anymore ideas as to what the problem may be. Have i got a setting wrong somewhere? Do i need to connect it to the internet? I am really lost now as to how to sort it. I will very much appreciate any help. Thank you.

That's an issue that I've never heard of and I'm pretty good with Megatouch machines. Google "The Megatouch Store" and contact the owner Dave at his email. He knows more about these machines than anyone else and has always helped me.

You probably just need to do a reinstall. That guy is just going to try and make you think you need to buy a new hard drive or key. Don't believe his lies.

Make sure you do have 2007 though. Look at the security key it should have a bunch of letters and numbers starting with SA3xxx And report back and i'll tell you if its 2007 or not. If you cant find the iso's and there not up on the megatouch iso sharing ftp i'll upload them somewhere for you.

Thanks for the reply, the key does start sa3 but I'm really clueless to what you are saying about iso etc could you explain in more detail please as I'm not too good on computer related things but my brother in law will understand, sorry about this as i was a mere gas man lol. Many thanks.

Bit of an update, I've been told the key ive got is a tournament key. I can understand that but the machine was working perfect before the battery died. Do i have to change some settings or connect it to the internet?

Merit does not support the games anymore, so there's nothing on the internet to hook the games up to. The only other thing I can suggest is something I had to do when I replaced the battery in mine. I had to hook up a computer keyboard (with a ps2 connection as mine was a Maxx) and at one point when the machine was booting I had to hit F10 once and it was fine after that. Now the battery is only used for memory I think, so when the battery goes dead the game will turn on, but not fully boot up so I don't think yours had a battery problem.

Do you have a spare ide hard drive and a spare ide dvd drive from an old computer? If not, you might have to have someone install the software for you. What is the the exact letters/numbers on the key? I want to verify what version your key is for. And no, you do not need to be connected to the internet to get this working again.

And by iso, i meant the software you need is in a image archive format that needs to be burned onto a DVD disc. I can upload that image somewhere if you need it.

Thanks both for replying, i have connected the keyboard and done the f10 test which made no difference, the machine out of service still came up. The number on the key is sa3529-11 r01. Ive had a word with my bro in law and he says the machine boots up with no problems and just before the message about being out of service appears a box appears saying megalink and try's to connect to internet then the above message appears if that makes any sense? Is there a setting to stop that box appearing? Many thanks for helping me.

In looking at the manuals I saw something for DIP 5 and 7 to reset when Tournamaxx is not available, so you can try that. However your key doesn't match what's listed in the Tech 2007 update. Here's where I found a list of manuals if you haven't seen them.

EDIT: My bad DIPs 4 and 7 should also do what 5 and 7 would. I'll check my full service manual when I get home.

I suggest finding a spare ide hard drive and reinstall the software and see if you get that error. I have a few 2008 online keys that was told need to be connected to the internet but when i installed 2008 they worked right off the bat and never had a out of service error come up.

iso is a fourm of file that takes the image of a harddrive and writes it to a cd/dvd
for later use, much like a back up but instead it is done in a unverisal cd/dvd fromat "iso"
question i have for u
is your key fob red or black ?
as all my turney keys are red fob. thats how we know they are truney keys

Found this in the Tech 2012 document at the link I posted. Your key doesn't match what the manuals say. There's no way you can hook it to the internet now since Merit no longer supports the game. I think you need a 2007 key SA-3526-XX.

Game Out of Service: Certain MegaNet games have an Internet-connection-required security key.
Broadband connection: Game has a connection-required key that has not connected to Internet server for 30 days or more.
This is a broadband connection problem. Example: Defective router, no broadband service, wireless adapter issue…
Security Key Issue: Game had a connection-required key that was replaced with a standard key.
This requires a memory clear using the DIP switch 4 & 7 procedure done with the security key removed.
Once the screen indicates "No security key detected" simply re-install the security key during the five reboot attempts.
An update from server should be done first, provided the game is still involved in the MegaNet system
Memory corruption: The game never had a connection-required key. This is a result of memory corruption.
This requires a memory clear using the DIP switch 4 & 7 procedure done with the security key removed.
Once the screen indicates "No security key detected" simply re-install the security key during the five reboot attempts

You don't need a new key. You said it was working up until your battery died. Unless you havent had it working for a few years and it was always connected to the internet, then it makes no sense that you need a new key. Also, there is a good chance even if you replace that key with a different Force 2007 key, you will still need to reinstall the 2007 force software.

Wow fantastic response from you all, i will try all the things you have all said although i will have to wait for my bro in law to help me. I am really grateful to all of you for taking the time and responding to my problem so to you all many thanks. It may take me a couple of days to get sorted so please check back to see if ive sorted it or put a match to it lol.
I will try to download the software but can somebody please explain how to do it. I will buy a new hard drive in the morning but I'm not sure what to do next. Can somebody put it into "not very tech savvy words". Once again many thanks to you all.
