So I just picked up a Megatouch EVO and the can't calibrate it. After playing around with it, it appears the X Y is reversed, when I move up and down the cursor goes left and right, left and right is goes up and down. Looks like someone replaced the monitor or touch screen at some point and I am guessing there is a wire swapped or something... Can anyone help a brother out?

Thanks

It sounds like one of the wires going to the glass might not be making contact. Some touchscreen revisions use wires soldered to the special coating, and some use a flat cable with conductive material. I have seen a few that have wires soldered, the wire either ripped off at the solder joint, or was hanging on by just a few strands of wire. It caused the same problem your experiencing.
I would inpect the cable going to the glass and if a wire did break off, a simple resolder should fix it up. If it is the case and you feel you cant do it yourself, Just PM me and i'll fix it very reasonable.

After playing with this a bit more, I am also getting contacts when I move the wire around that connects the touch screen controller and the touchscreen but what your saying makes sense. I will check the screen wires as well.

sounds like the touchscreen was put upside down
done it before everything will be reversed

Actually, when you recalibrate you tell the controller what is up,down, left, right.

And he said when he moved the cable it responded which im almost sure is a broken/loose connection at the base of the glass.

if the screen was put upside down the calibrate won't help been there done that lol

Thats interesting. Ive replaced probably 20 touchscreens and never accidently installed one upside down. I actually never thought there was an up or down, just a front and a back.

So if what you say is true, then what are they doing with those vertical 16:9 jukebox's?

i just run the touchtunes boxes haven't seen the ami's

@ i believe $8 grand,(used quote i got) i havent seen too many either. Other then that, All i see is touchtunes and the old rowe CD-100's with the jump kit installed. I actually would like to get a used jump kit. I really only need the drop in bezel, but if the price was right i would buy the entire kit.
