I work at an advertising agency and we just moved to a new office a couple of weeks ago. They are still looking for ways to furnish and decorate the office. So our boss decided that it would be cool to use the blank white wall in our break room as a canvas for everyone.

I reserved a space in the bottom right corner to do some pixel art during my breaks. I just drew the grid in pencil and then started filling in the pattern. It's about 15"X15". It doesn't take much artistic skill to be honest, just time and patience.

All done!

That looks great man, I think what impresses me the most is how cleanly you laid out that grid lol

Haha, thanks man. Yeah, it didn't take much to draw it out. Just used a good ruler. It's 30 1/2" boxes X 32 1/2" boxes.

I'm using thick sharpies and paint pens to fill in and pigma micron pens to finish off the edges. It's actually taking forever because the wall is painted with a glossy white paint so it just sucks up ink and dries out the thick pens fast.

It's all in good fun though.

I got the megaman wall decals off of think geek and they are awesome!!! Also got the DK ones and Asteroids

Yeah, I've always thought of getting the DK ones, but they are pricey and I honestly don't have the wall space for them given all of the other stuff I have up.

If I were to ever decorate some blank walls with art, I would just hand draw them like this. Time consuming? Definitely. Cheap and rewarding? Certainly.

inb4 Phet twists this.

That's very cool! I wish my work environment was that laid-back and creative!!!

I posted this a while back, but a gaming company here in town has this hanging in the break room:

It is made up of a bunch "pixels" made out of painted NES cartridges:

The only Megaman at work story I have is back in 2000 I got snowed in at work. My friend had a computer in his car and he brought it in and we hooked it up to their $6000 projector to play Megaman on the wall.

Posted a couple of more pics.

I need to find a better light blue pen to fill in the rest as it's going to be a lot of ink. What I've done so far in those boxes doesn't look as good as I had hoped. I also need find the right color for his face.

It's definitely been refreshing to work on early in the morning and during my breaks. Maybe I should set up a TV and NES in that corner for people to play in the break room. :)

The colors didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped due to the wall paint and the quality of the pens I used. I also couldn't find a beige for his face color and ended up just using a pink highlighter.

Here's a zoomed out shot with all of the other random art my coworkers did.

That's really cool. I like the "Gah" and the zombie drawing also. Yours is cool, but too small. :D

Yeah, there's definitely people that are way more talented than me here. Those are free hand too. "GA" is actually an inside joke since our parent company is GA (Graphics Atlanta).

Yeah, it's a bit small in comparison, but I like that it's somewhat conspicuous. My boss said he'll probably have all of this primered quarterly so we can start new. I'm thinking of doing Link next time.

This thread is so full of win! And yeah, those Mega Man wall decals on think geek are pricey, but of course I bought them. The Super Mario Bros. set looks cool too,but haven't pulled the trigger on it. I wish they had some decals for other classic nes games, like Castlevania,Zelda,Contra,Metroid,River City Ransom.....and a ton of other awesome nes games.

I was wondering when you were going to chime in. :)

Yeah, I got requests to do one of the bosses. Not sure if I will though. If I do, I think I may do...Gutsman!

I think its pretty funny how you all worked around the microwave and cart. LOL

Yeah, that's the toaster oven on a cart. It's the only place in the break room they could really put it. The other side are the vending machines, sink, microwave, coffee machine, etc. What's funny is you can see where one of the guys drew a fake power outlet above it. It faked out the person who plugged in the toaster oven for the first time. It was pretty funny.
