Anyone ever had someone send you an email from a FS post and say "can we set up a time to meet so I can look at the game?" Never happened to me until today, and the weird thing, is the dude is coming from 2 hours away. WTF is the meeting about? Wanna play it? Check it out?

Never once in the email chain has he said "I'll take it" or "would you take $x.xx for it?". Weird. Hopefully he doesn't show up and try to low ball me. Will be a long 2 hour ride home for him.

Anyway, just thought I would ask. Im assuming since homeboy is coming from so far away, he's bringing $$$ but stranger things have happened I guess.

I always have a baseball bat close at hand when I have people who say this. I have had this multiple times with CL but never anyone on here. Can't be too carefull, especially you because your games are at your house.

Actually I say I'd like to look at it first before commiting to buy or making an offer. If I go look and its not what I want I walk away. I dont find that odd at all unless your getting some strange vibs from the guy. Also to drive 2 hours they must want it. I try to have the games outside away from inside the house if I can.

Wear your garlic-laced Underoos and keep a stiff stake under your trenchcoat. Sounds we may be dealing with a Humpire.

I think it's just a way of saying I'd like to see what I'm buying before I commit to buy. Yes I believe it's more likely in this scenario that the potential buyer may offer a lower amount for the game.

I once had a guy from CL say he wanted to come by to see the game... to give him a call. I called and got some wiked-ass death metal voice and screaming and shit on the voicemail message. I didn't leave a message. I then went to reply to the guy via email and realized his email address was [email protected].... natas? That is SATAN spelled backward. I determined the guy wasn't someone I wanted knowing where I lived.

No weird vibe, but found it strange that he lives 2 hours from me. Seems awfully far to just take a look.

I would do the exact thing. 2 hours isn't that far. If it's drivable, I would want to inspect before I lay down the cash.

And yeah, if he was going to low-ball you, he'd have tried that before committing to that much time and gas money, I'd think. I think you'll be fine.

Dek: Good call... Natas was the ollie GOD!!!

If he ends up being Natas Kaupas, make sure to get a picture with him!

Like others said, he probably just wants to see it before he commits. I have driven over an hour just to see a game and not expecting to buy it (and without a truck) only to return later in the day with a borrowed truck and cash to take it home because it was in such good shape. You never know what you're going to get.

I'd let him stop by, I've seen some questionable characters in my day and most are not intersted in OLD arcade games.

Yeah, Im not worried. I went back and looked, and his very first email was

Hey there,

Do you have the locks to the coin doors with this game? Also, is there any burn in the screen?

Seems like he knows a thing or two about these games, so I wont worry. His name is Cameron, too. Only pussies are named that ;)

You mean someone actually wants to look at what they are buyng before committing a substantial sum of money to the purchase? Unbelieveable!;)

I have had this happen before and it should actually work out in your favor... If he tries to lowball you just stick to your original price. I don't think he would want to drive 2 hrs and leave with nothing. If he is committed to that drive he is more or less likely to commit to the price.

Exactly. Question for the OP, man do you never sell anything? Of course he wants to look at the game, what else is he supposed to say?

"Hey, just wanting to meet to have you bring the game outside blanketed up and put it in my car for me without ever laying eyes on it"

I don't find anything strange at all about what he said. Have you been drinking again? :0

Jow if he's driving 2 hours and never mentioned anything about the price, and just wants to take a look he's going to low-ball you dude. I'd bet money on it. He probably thinks if you think he's not too interested that you'll want to get rid of it more and lower the price. Stay firm on your price but be careful. God I hate selling shit to people. 95% are complete f*cking morons.

Hey Jow, email him one more time, confirming the time, and telling him "he has first shot but you have several other guys coming over"

Tell him a guy offered you more, lol. but you will wait till after he has seen it, because you hate
craigslist flakes, so you don't want to do it to anyone else. :O)

Meh I always say I would like to come look at it.
If you don't, you get the inverse of the comments on this board.

You show up, and they are expecting you to buy their water damaged, piss soaked, rat turded generic cab that they swore was an all original qbert because..... you didn't say I want to look at it first.

As for the buyer haters.........you ever think that people walk away from your sale thinking the same things about you?
