Meet the Centurion Army!!!

Ok well, we know where that Aztarac went! Besides the joystick, what else was missing?

I have my eye on that Guzzler machine! This is what I have been wanting to build for years!

Can you help me with the art package Jeff so I may build me one? I need CPO and Bezel, I got the rest.

Let me know.

Impressive!

Actually, this wasn't the Aztarac from that big auction a few weeks ago. I think that one was missing the joystick as well, though... but from the pics that one looked complete and was working, otherwise. This Aztarac I got was missing the joystick, Wico spinner knob, bubble plexi, and the power supply. I got one of the repro plexi's and have potential leads on the other missing pieces.

The Guzzler that I put together was just an empty Centuri cab that I had here. I got the marquee and CPO from Escape Pod. Dan only had the conversion version for a Pacman style cab, so I had him make a custom version of the marquee and CPO to fit a Centuri cab. If you need either of those, he should still have the files for them and can probably do a print of either for you.

So impressive! Now I REALLY miss my Vanguard! But, Jeff! You couldn't have possibly lined those games up by order of release! Are you serious?!?! You're making my OCD spin out of control, here!! LOL, I kid!

That's nuclear cool!!

Haha... no.. I didn't order them by date of release... but if you look at the pic, you can see I DID try to order them by the plexiglass bezel angle. The left side has 7 cabs with the plexi bezel mounted upright and the right side has 7 cabs with the plexi bezel mounted angled back. Lol!

That looks beautiful! Did you get a bezel or any files for one? If not, I can see if I can find a bezel in my stash and if there is one, I can have it reproed possible and get one to you a well. I remember getting a Guzzler full conversion kit but not sure what was included in it.

Do you have a roc and rope? I made one out of a Time Pilot once, and it turned out great and was sold in that auction weeks ago where that aztarac was sold.

Dan did great work on that artwork and did great work on my Juno First Bezel as well!

Do you remember which Centuri cabinet and control panel you used that would make it an easy conversion to Guzzler? I have debated getting a time pilot or maybe a Phoenix, but I am not sure what an easy conversion to a Guzzler would be with the wiring and control panels in these cabinets. I try and keep the altering of the control panel and original wiring to a minimum.

Those Centuri Cabinets that you have found that are in your collection look amazing! Did you replace the wood grain on some of these? These cabinets are getting hard to find just like the sega convert a cabs in good condition.

Thanks for the information.

I had thought about having a bezel made for it, but didn't. I'd love to have one, though!

I just have the PCB for Rock & Rope. I had visions of putting a few of those vertical Konami games (Roc N Rope, Pandora's Palace, etc.) in Circus Charlie style cabs. I got as far as doing a Circus Charlie cab and another cab for Mikie.

For the Guzzler control panel, the button placement was based off a Swimmer control panel... but in the end rather than converting a Swimmer control panel, it was cheaper for me to take a Phoenix control panel over to my metal local metal shop and have them make me a blank control panel and then I cut the holes for the Fire and Player 1/2 start myself.

I replaced the wood grain laminate on Phoenix, Guzzler, Locomotion, and Swimmer. I found a really good match!!

Crazy thread, you are passionate! Hope you find that missing game one day soon.
I'm impressed by the full side art on the time pilot machine; my favorite Centuri.

That is a near perfect match!

I found an almost exact Match for the sega convert a cabs and so I redid our Space Fury in it. What do you think?

Looks great. Is that laminate or vinyl? I've been looking for a while for a match to the Sega cabs. I have a few that are really chewed up at the bottom that need some restoration work.
Yeah that is why I set out on a mission to find a good match and finally found one that I thought looked great. What was on there before, was horrible. Someone had tried to put some cheap side wood grain wall paper that was rippling up and I literally tore it off like I was opening a Christmas Present.

I will be making a Thread on the restore forum of the finished space fury when I get it all done in the coming weeks. It is going to be a real gem!

Where did you get that wood grain laminate from? I am gonna need some for an upcoming project.

Looks awesome, i only have 1, Phoenix, and 1 PCB Pleiades. My bottom corners were slightly messed up, so i put metal corner protectors on them. Love me some Phoenix it is on e i remember playing back in the day,

If you are doing a Centuri cabinet, the best match I found was with Pionite brand laminate. The color is called "Hearth Oak" (model number WO862SD). You'd want the vertical grade laminate. I'd give it a 98% match to the original Centuri wood grain.

Yeah I am going to be restoring a european space duel with some damaged laminate. This stuff looked pretty close so I figured it would be worth trying.

Thanks!
