I have a K4900 model (4915 I believe) Medium Resolution monitor in my Paperboy. Prior to re-capping it, the picture was decent but I couldn't position the screen completely on up top... and even with the horizontal position pot maxed out there was about an inch of black space on the tube at the bottom.

I re-capped and fired her up. The good news is that there was no magic smoke. The bad news is that my position issue is still present... the re-capping helped a tiny little bit. I have about an extra 1/4 inch of screen that will show at top but the bottom is still about an inch up from the bottom.

The pots are working... I can adjust UP from the current position without issue... just not down.

:(

You could adjust the centering tabs on your convergence rings (closest to the tube). Make sure the other sets don't move so you don't have to adjust the rings.

And does adjusting the Horiz Hold pot help any?

I messed around with the rings a little... while I could get the image to adjust down a hair, it wasn't much... and it screwed with the convergence a bit on the corner so I just moved it back.

I've adjusted every available pot (short of the protection pot on the little board at the top left which is glued down) and it's a no go. It's not a HUGE deal... but I'd love to figure out what is up.

I did notice that if I brighten the image the image actually drops down about 1/4-1/2 inch... but then the image is too bright... :)
