Can someone settle a question I'm still not sure about?

I have a Paperboy and a Toobin, both with burnt tubes. The Toobin is weak, but I don't care to bother with a rejuv, as the CRT looks brown. If you get turn the brightness up much, there's a lot of pink bleeding around colors..turn it down where everything looks right and it's so dim. Also, there's a very faint slight interference type wave when it first comes on, although I did a cap kit, everything is grounded, etc.

I have done a swap and covergence with acceptable results on a G07, so know the basics.

I realize that the yoke stays with the chassis, but I've read where folks say that
-the original tubes were higher res (med res) dot pitch
-all tubes are really the same (given a match in neck diameter, pinout, etc..)
-you can swap in a tv tube and it will look the same
-you can swap in a tv tube and it will look more coarse

Given the phosphor burn in the original tubes, I think a swap is coming regardless if there was a slight degradation in picture quality. The increase in brightness/color would more than make up for that.

Trying to get some more info before I attempt a swap. Thanks for any answers.
