Just bought brand new 25" Makvision standard resolution monitor for my Cruisin World. Thought it would be correct as KLOV lists Cruiin World as STANDARD res. Getting triple images no matter what sync pins I used. Took close look at old monitor and is WG7501 which I think is Medium res. Anyhow, is there any way to get a standard res. monitor to work in a med. res game if this is my case? Thanks.

as far as i know no.. i ran into this a ew yearas ago when i wanted to use a cheap std res in my virtuafighter... i was also hoping for some type or converter but didnt find anything..

youll probhably have to find a med res monitor or get yours repaired.. THere are folks who will repair the chassis and ship it back to you... like chad over at www.arcadecup.com

you MIGHT get somebody to trade you a used med res for your new std res monitor.. just depends.. med res monitors od tend to run alot more money...

Make sure there's not a jumper for Cruisin World to operate in standard res.

Some games can do both standard and medium res.

That's a negative. I wish you would have searched around or asked here because I was almost in the same situation a couple months ago. Unfortunately KLOV.com is wrong and even more unfortunately there is no jumper or dip switch to convert Cruis'n World to standard res. I ended up buying my War Gods to use the monitor in my Cruis'n.

As for solutions to games that need medium res monitors...that is also a tough boat. You can use a converter from EGA to VGA but then where are you going to find an inexpensive 25" monitor that will display a VGA signal? LCD TV? Not cheap and the picture doesn't look very good. Medium res games can be a pain the ass unfortunately. I believe SilverDuck also was trying to find a good solution for the problem the same time I was. You can get Tri-res monitors but they aren't cheap that's for sure. Cheapest bet might be used but they are not as common.
