Medalist Spectrum Avanti Elite "T" USB Camera?

I picked up a Medalist Spectrum Elite T Bar Darts machine in good condition with ver 5.83.1 AL software. Medalist doesn't appear too communicative with non-operators ( it looks like their machines are being replaced commercially with online Dartslive boards so they're pehaps alienating a secondary market).

In any case, I am curious about putting on a USB camera addition (which it is supposed to support), but just adding one and plugging it into the computer doesn't appear to activate it, (the test mode simply shows a black screen and quickly defaults back to the service menu) and there doesn't appear to be any other controls in the operator menus.

Any ideas or anyone have technical experience with these? Is it a proprietary camera?

Thank you!

Wayne

That model is too new for me. My experience with the Spectrum series is with the "Genesis" , which is the original Spectrum model that Medalist made in the early 1990's.

About all I can say is to keep trying the tech support department at Medalist:

Yes, they primarily deal with distributors and dart game route/league operators. Sometimes home or hobbyist dart machine owners get better help through your local Medalist distributor's service/parts department. I see you are in Canada, so you might want to call Starburst/Playdium.

Thank you Ken. For some reason I was thinking they might not have been the original dealer, but since I have a contact in their Montreal office I will give Playdium a call first.

If anyone else has any experience with this newer series, any information or help would benefit - as I'll bet there will be more home owners of this particular series in the near future as the machines are replaced with online interactive (and Dartslive!) machines.

Turns out Playdium / Starburst wasn't the distributor of Medalist in Canada, and no word back from Medalist themselves on who the Canadian Distributor is/was by email. I'll have to give them a call. I think part of the problem is that soft darts has a relatively small following here in Canada, relegated to a few Asian communities which have really adopted it for their bars.
