I just got an off road challenge and a virtua fighter 2.

both of the monitors look pretty nice, but appear to be woefully shy on the red. makes it look odd.

I am comparing them to the pictures on klov.com

I didn't see any color adjustment knobs (yet) haven't looked real hard.

seem like a cap kit issue? (assuming I can't adjust the red up)

looks like off road challenge may be standard res.

If anything the color adjustment pots should be on the neckboard at least like most monitors. Especially standard res monitors. Labeled "Cut Off" and "Drive" with their respective colors.

If adjusting the pots don't do much to help with the color than the tube probably needs a rejuv! I'd look to see if anyone around in the Cali area has a rejuvinator or look around on Ebay........

yeah I didn't think about that.

I have one, and have used it 20 times, lol.
thanks

if you have weak red,you need to hit it with the rejuvinator.. If you have no red then it could be the pcb. Caps usually don't change color.

If its too bright, it will wash out the monitor, so make sure you have good blacks and work you way up...

offroad challenge is MEDIUM rez. Its compatible with crusin series. KLOV is wrong..

yeah it looks like a med res, but I was looking at the klov posting to call it std.
I have reds, just dim or washed. I will test the guns on both and report back (after the rejuve if necessary)

ok, follow up report:

I went through the process with the rejuvenator and got the off road challenge looking unbelievably awesome.

did the same thing with the virtua fighter (same exact chassis' and tubes for the record) and no luck.

I have adjusted the color pots to death, and all guns are reading good, no short, etc.

no cold solder joints on the neck board, everything looks good there.

If I choose to get real thorough in a bit I will back the games up to each other and get the virtua fighter plugged into the off road challenge monitor, but the kids are battling it out with each other right now :)

bad color pot?
