I just installed a cap kit in the k4900 for my Championship Sprint and the colors still look washed out and there are lines at the top of the screen. Any ideas as to what would cause this and if there is a fix for it? I've adjusted the controls all over the place and it doesn't get any better than this.

Re-terminate? That sounds promising but I'm unfamiliar with it. Can you explain? Sorry for the newbness, I'm learning slowly on the whole monitor thing. Thanks!

Dave is asking for you to either get new connectors and install or to redo the existing connector.

Personally, I would check continuity for each wire to ensure there are no internal breaks in that cable.

Oh, and for the hammer, hit it right in the center of the tube, about as hard as it would take to knock a baby seal out.

Exactly. Re-using the existing connectors will probably not work in this case, as that is usually where the problem lies.

Damn, every time I read something you guys post, I get hopeful and run off to do it. Everything terminates fine and the V-Damp doesn't change anything for the better. <sigh>
Any other tricks up your sleeves? Any suggestions are appreciated, I'm at a loss.

I assume you tried turning down screen voltage a bit and messing with the black level control...

try to rejuv it, but I think your tube is just tired.. look for a replacement.
