Measuring resistors and transistors on the AR2 Boards R6, R7, R29, R30 & 2N3055?

How do I measuring resistors and transistors on the pole position ar2 boards. These seem to be the likely suspects on all the ar2 boards.

R6= 3.9k 1/4 watt resistor

R7 7.5k, 1/4 watt resistor

R29 10 ohm, 1/4 watt resistor

R30 10 ohm, 1/4 watt resistor

2N3055 Transistor, TO-3 Package

1) What would I set my dmm at to measure the resistors on those AR2 boards? Would 20k ohms be correct?

2) Should resistors be out of circuit when testing these ar2's?

3) How do I test a 2n3055 Transistor?

Thanks for your time I am almost there...

1) You set your meter setting to the lowest setting that is higher than what you expect to get - 20k for the higher ones and 200 for the lower ones.

2) Make sure you unsolder and remove one leg of each resistor before you test it to ensure that you get an accurate reading. If you get a bad reading, remove it completely and test again.

3) Test a transistor like you do a diode. There are three legs - emitter, base, and collector. It's not necessary to know which is which at this time. Put your black lead on one leg, then your red lead on each of the other two legs. Test all combinations by moving the black lead to each leg with the red lead on each of the other two. Sometimes you will get a reading and sometimes you won't. This is normal. If you get a short reading, remove the transistor and test it again. if you still have the short, then replace it...

Thanks Mod that helped big time.
