Me and my technician repaired a Time Traveler today

awesome game, i always thought the hologram display was epic win.

I'm sure you could sell the one you cannibalized for parts fairly easily.

what's with all the blue painters tape along the sides in the back and is that the powersupply making all that racket?

Awesome job making it work again :D

Cool game. We had that at the college I went to for about 3 days. but it was deemed offensive because a cowboy shoots an Indian and so it was removed.

Cool game. The vid doesn't do the 3d effect justice for those who haven't seen this in real life.

Unfortunately I never liked the gameplay of this one.

Edit: Thanks for posting the vid. I haven't seen one of these for years. Good stuff there. Any pics of the insides/what makes this thing tick?

If the cannibalized one has a good mirror, keep it (the mirror) for ever and ever.

It was a cool game. Can't figure out why they never developed that idea. It was pretty original at the time.

I worked in 3D optics for about 5 years. The problem with the technology is that it's quite limited. Lots of edge distortion, so the imagery has to be small, etc. They didn't go further because it wasn't very successful, and they did about as much as they could do with it. It's definitely a collector's item though!

I have a Time Traveler, and I love it. People always rip on the gameplay, but I think it's a lot of fun. The effect still looks awesome.

If you want to see something really cool, put something black over the monitor face and get someone to hold a solid object in front of it with a light shining on it (don't break anything). That optical system should be able to do true 3D, but because it was fed a 2D image, you get a 2D image plane in 3D space during gameplay.
