Hello. Noob here. I have been messing with pinball machines for about 5 years and have a 9 machines now. Today I am buying a Galaga that has been restored and cosmetically looks almost new. I am excited about the prospect of putting 60-1 board in and will prob be asking a bunch of noob questions. First question.....is $700 for a Galaga that looks new and works fair price?

Probably, especially if it is a good accurate restoration, got any pics?

It's way too much to pay for something your going to ruin with a 60 - 1! !

I have seen game. Looks new but not accurate restoration. The guy that owns machine runs a graphic arts company. He stripped and repaired cabinet, made his own decals, put in new markee, t-mold, plexi-glass. Looks great but as far as accurate restore, no.

$200 tops if it's been raped as such

I guess I would still have to see the pictures and know the quality of the monitor, $700 probably a little too high, though $200 seems a little low ;)

You don't have to wait, man! Fire up those 60 games in MAME to see what it'll be like.

(But remember to use only your left and right arrow keys, `cause your Galaga only has a 2-way joystick.)

I agree with the others.. if you come across a working Galaga with the original boards inside, don't put a crap-in-1 board in it.

Indeed, don't put a 60in1 inside, you'll also have to chance the joystick oderwise you only will be able to play something like 5 games, galaga alone will be more then enough fun, I guarantee you.

You can get the right joystick for about 10-20 bucks, and then you are fine, except for about five games.....;)

Then you'd also have to modify the control panel, since the hole for the joystick is not round.

Personally, I would not ruin a restored original Galaga by putting a 60n1 in it.

I agree with everyone else. Don't pay 700 for a 'custom' game. 200 or so tops..then REALLY restore it by getting the correct graphics and marquee. Look for a generic cab to put the 60-1 board in.

Don't bother with 60n1 boards, they're only for sketchy ops that only care about money even at the expense of common decency. Get a generic cabinet and do a proper MAME setup, you'll get a much better experience, way more games, and you won't be putting good money into the pockets of Chinese bootleggers.
