Hi,

I'm new to this hobby and need some help with a Tapper PCB I just acquired. From what I can tell, the top board (Super Sound I/O board) is missing several chips. See attached pic, I think it's missing two audio chips (F6 and F7 at the bottom), a ram chip for A6, a Z-80 chip for A12, and 4 unique to Tapper rom chips in A7-A10. Is this right, and how can I obtain replacements for these missing chips?

Thanks for any help,

Mike

lots of sources for the parts you need.
www.therealbobroberts.com is the only one i know of that can handle them all.
You need
2 ay-3-8910's.
1 z80
and the 4 eproms - they should be either 2532's or 2732's depending on how the board is strapped. On the ssio, find the label jw1 and jw2. One should have a zero ohm resistor, or a piece of wire there, and the other cut.
If it has jw1 connected, it uses 2732 eproms. If it has jw2 connected, it uses 2532 roms.

Just from looking at it, you need to replace the ribbon cables as well.
http://www.therealbobroberts.net/mcr.html Bob sells those as well.

Now, not to bust your bubble, but don't be surprised if it still doesn't work after you do all that. MCR boardsets are notorious for having bad sockets.

edit - you also need on 6116 ram for the ssio. A6 is the position.
