I wonder if I am the first person to make this discovery;

This morning I bought my daughter a Shrek happy meal from McDonalds.
In it was a Fiona doll that makes karate noises.

As she starts playing with it, out pops the exact sound bites used in
The Simpsons arcade game.

The noises that the bart character makes,

"hiyahh hiyahh move out!"

I dont mean similar, I mean the exact actual recordings...

I am guessing Fox has enough $$$ with Shrek that they should not have to recycle?

I know Shrek is "green" but come on??!!

Funny story. I have a girl and a boy. I get the kids each a happy meal, telling the drive tru attendant that I do in fact have a girl and a boy. I get to the window, get the grub, hand it back to my daughter and proceed to leave. She opens both happy meals and within minutes I hear 2 toys making the same karate chop sound. They gave both kids the same toy. When my brother and I were kids, that would never fly. You had to get different toys, or one sibling would lose or break theirs, then claim the other guy's as his own when you weren't looking. Never mind the gender specific thing (they both got Fiona), but why would you give 2 kids from the same household the same toy? Are you fucking insane? Apparently so.

Why would you expect the snot nosed 16 year old to understand or give a crap about your two kids. She only has one kid and that kid is satisfied with any Happy Meal toy mom brings home...

Funny, I have seen stuff like this before to this date.
There are cash register machines that I hear make exact noises that are direct rips when items are scanned or an error...
sonic the hedgehog sound when you lose your rings... I never forgot that sound, it's exact. And an uh-ohhhh sound ripped from what old pc app... Forgot the name of the app though...

Also, a direct wooosh rip sound from doom pc original used in a car comercial years ago.

I used to work at McD's while still in college and IIRC the toys were all the same for any box we opened up. The only exception was when they had a time when they had a girl or boy specific toy and we had to ask the customer which they wanted. Most of the time you'd probably get the same toy in each Happy Meal, but at times I'd take a minute if we weren't busy to open a box with a different toy or see if we had a specific one. Generally we only opened a new box with a different toy once the previous ones were gone.

Nowadays they have 'sets' of toys from a movie tie-in, not just one. They have all of them in the restaurant at the same time, unless they are out of one or more of them. I think back in the day they cycled thru them, like this toy this week, a different toy next week, ala California Raisins. But now, they have the entire set there, to be able to give you whichever one they choose. How do I know? My next door neighbor works at this particular MCD's. She was not working when I stopped this time. Maybe Dreamworks is only trickling 1 Shrek toy at a time to the restaurant, but I doubt it.

Alot of cell phones have IGT slot machine sounds on them. Yes, im very familiar with IGT slots and when I hear the sound in walmart or somewhere else in public im looking around for a slot machine.

Uh-Oh sound - isn't that WS_FTP? Or was it MIRC? One of those.

Actually, in some households (mine) we end up better off when the toys are the same, because then they can't get mad about who got the better toy. It all depends on the kids...

YES! I have heard that Sonic Ring sound.. my brother and I were in a gas station about 6 months ago and walked all over the damn place trying to find the sonic game.. Finally when checking out we heard the register making the noise. It drove me nuts..

LOVE the Sonic register. Crewe Station in northern VA (Crewe, to be exact, haha) has one, and it startled me to death when I was walking out of the door. I instinctively tripped over my own foot and had to catch myself, expecting to have to catch a bunch of falling bling. then I remembered it was the real world, haha

I believe the "uh-oh" sound originated from the "Lemmings" game, which is where the FTP application ripped it from.
