Rules is a funny way to put it... I thought this thread was for "free" before someone threw something away or put it on the curb... If something has monetary value you can't expect someone to give it away for free if they can sell something in pieces...
Read the very first post.... Its about last calls.... Not necessarily free cabs or parts.....

Getting ready to smash an original dedicated cabinet you don't have space for? Why not offer it up for free if you can't sell it? It might be a tad more hassle then burning or dumping, but it could be of use to another collector and might actually be restored.

Thinking of parting out a machine worth more dead than alive? Please let us know that, and ask a price in between. Parting out a game is work, and it is nice to help some one else save a game if they can.

* Don't post the for sale thread here. Create a thread if you haven't already and link to it from here.

From the first post... The guy was still trying to sell it... using a "for sale thread"

And... there are no rules... just common courtesy and what each person defines as such... some more than others:)

That's not true. It's mandatory per McLemore.

* Most importantly, after posting in this thread, please give potential saviors one at least 2 WEEKS (IF NOT LONGER) to propose an adoption before continuing with the part out.

* Participation in this thread is currently MANDATORY. Previously it was voluntary, but highly encouraged, and now we are running a test as a mandatory thread. Mandatory just means post to it 2 weeks before you post a parting out (and selling the parts) thread.

* Even if a machine isn't working or complete, please offer it up before parting it out.

* If you see another thread about a threatened part-out, and it isn't linked here, you can post it here even if you aren't the original poster of the other thread.

It can be confusing sometimes, but it does state that it is mandatory.

I stand corrected... But I'm not sure what good a mandatory rule is when it's purloined in an area most won't stumble upon... I for one read it quite some time ago and it wasn't written in a way that was clear enough to have any impact... IMO

Tempest Project

I have a Tempest Project cab, just the cabinet tho it is in great shape; decent art and would clean up nice, no damage and I've repainted the black areas. Comes with coin door, sanded control panel and empty marquee bracket.

I will give it two weeks then I will create something ..... terrible.
