Hey guys. Have a dedicated Maximum Force. Everything works great but I get interference with the sound. Sound still works but I get like a squealing noise coming from the back of the cab. Havent messed with it yet but could it be a bad hard drive or the fan possibly going out? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Or possibly the powersupply making this noise? Thanks. :)

Is the noise coming from the cab or the speakers? If from the cab, its probably the fan on your power supply.

Mine looks like this. These always have fan problems. Listen for the squeal by the power supply. Easiest way to determine it is the fan is if you stick a screw driver in the fan blades to hold it from moving and then power on the machine.
No more squeal = bad fan. Shut it off, replace bad fan out of power supply and reinstall.

thanks for the info....where do I go about finding a new fan for this particular power supply? Im sure its just the fan just been super busy. Thanks. :)

Make sure it is the fan first.
It is a standard 3" 12VDC fan. You can get them at electronic part stores, I think radio shack has them. But I always get them from old PC AT power supplies or new ones from Bob Roberts.

will check when i get home tonight....thanks again.

I briefly checked this out lastnight and it is coming from the powersupply but the fan is not even spinning......just replace the whole PS?

here's an experience I had with a Road Burners... mind you, I was first breaking into the game tech thing at the time, I had no idea about power supplies. I had to go over a little more than 60 games in about a month and a half, mostly by myself. I started checking power supply fans and found Road Burners to have a dead fan... so I replaced it. the tech at the place we bought all these games from didn't know the first fucking thing about preventative maintenance, let alone how to fix anything properly. I mention that, because that power supply was probably run like that for a really long time.

that was almost 4 years ago. the power supply still works.

the decision's up to you to take the gamble replacing just the fan or replacing the whole power supply. I'd personally just do both, because the fan is cheap and won't eat up hardly any of your time at all to change out, then you have a backup for a rainy day, but then you have a new one too. if you intend on keeping this game for awhile, I'd go new, and fix the old one.

I briefly spent some time on my maximum force lastnight and indeed the noise was coming from the power supply. But it had nothing to do with the fan as the fan was not working at all. So in the meantime I guess just buy a brand new powersupply uh? Will it hurt my game if I play it at all in the meantime since its making that noise? Will it damage the board at all since the fan is not working? Thanks and have a great day, brian

The fan should be spinning whenever the system is powered on. I am thinking that the noise is coming from the fan- trying to spin. I would not play the game until you fix the issue otherwise the power supply will definitely be damage and you could risk damaging your board.
You could try opening the power supply and disconnecting power to the fan. Then carefully apply power to the power supply and see if the noise stopped. If it did, then you know it's the fan. Replace the $3 fan and you should be back in business.
