Hey all, this is my first post, and a lite search of the forums didn't appear to give me an answer,

I am in the process of refurbishing a Max RPM cabinet, For some reason the monitor doesn't power up or anything, at one point it did for a bit (came up just blue only), until I wired up the power supply for the boards (a previous owner had for some reason cut the J2 connector off, thus I had to solder on since I had no connector).

I tried disconnecting power to that board, and it doesn't "magically" start working again, so I'm really not sure what the problem could be.

I have all the schematics and whatnot, but if anyone has any tips on what and/or where to check on the monitor to figure out what is broken then please by all means let me know.

Thank you,

Are you sure the monitor is the problem? Can you coin up and start the machine, an hear the music playing? A buddy of mine has a Max RPM, and it has a G07 monitor in it. Looks like it came from the factory with it.

First, you have to tell us which monitor chassis you have in the game.

Then you need to check for voltage to the monitor.

Have you tried turning up the brightness to see if anything comes up?

Hum only no music, wasn't sure if I should start on the mono board first or the monitor, as before when the monitor was "working" it came up blue screen, now it doesn't even look like the filament in the back is even coming on, as far as chassis based on the schematics it says its a G07-CB0 I believe.

I unfortunately don't have an o-scope so I can't test out the readings that the schematics suggest.

As far as brightness control, no I haven't tried that, I can give it a whirl although I was thinking since there was no filament lit I assumed it wasn't working at all.

Basically right now (due to LOTS of cut wires) I have the lights in the coin slots on, and the turbo cheap squeak I get the Green led lit for a bit (I believe indicating initialization/reset), and the hum from the speakers, I have 120V going to the monitor input (the connection anyways), and it appears the appropriate voltages are being output although I haven't tested the amperage.

Thank you for the help so far.
