Maverick DMD weird issue

Hi. I am currently having a Maverick refurbished/shopped out for me. All done except for weird display issue. Please see attached photo. See how extra pixels are lit up between the 0 and 3? Also the comma above for player 1 score has an extra pixel. The tech says display is fine cause these weird anomalies don't show up all the time but at specific times if that makes any sense. Weirdness shows up on the display test as well but not all the time only at specific times again. So tech says it is either a software issue (need updated rom) or rom chip may have dirty/damaged legs. It made sense to me. Does this seems like a reasonable cause for what's happening? Anyone ever experience this? Also, the connector mod for this game that is recommended for the DMD was done. Oh yeah and DMD is brand new.

Nobody ever seen anything like this? Have any possible solutions to suggest? I just want to have some back up ideas if tech can't figure it out quickly. Thanks!

Flakey ribbon cable to display? Could be bad ram on the dmd controller.

Ribbon is good. My rom for display is version 4.0. He is going to burn 4.02 (latest version) and see if that fixes things. I'll report back once it's done.

Turns out there was just some debris on the dmd board causing the issue. Gonna update the rom anyway. Just wanted to share the solution to my issue. Dirty board!
