Do we still have people like this on KLOV? Here is how this 'deal' went. No names (except mine, obviously) given. Personally, the quote I put in bold was completely unneccessary and craigslist-like. Not looking to out someone, just wanted to get some reviews on this latest installment of the KLOV drama series.

Do you have any rods or the scoreboard?

thedrewster0
I have the US/Canada scoreboard (untested), no rods though. $150 shipped and its yours.

KLOVer 'X'
Didn't you want $200 for the entire machine before? I was thinking more like $50 shipped, especially since it's untested. Would you want to spend $150 on something that might be a paperweight?

thedrewster0
However much I wanted for the machine previously is irrelevant. ICE is commanding $350 for a new scoreboard. I think taking $200 off an untested part is fair. Would you want to sell a $350 part that could very well be working for $50?

KLOVer 'X'
It's not irrelevant, and ICE's price is for a BRAND NEW 4th generation scoreboard. FAR from what you are selling. I'm stuck with one of the 2nd generation scoreboards you have. They sent it back to me, because they can no longer fix them models. So I'd use yours for parts to try and get at least one functioning scoreboard. Whatever though, you'll never get $150 for it.

thedrewster0
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how to throw away the chance of making any sort of a deal. Have a good day.

KLOVer 'X'
Hahaha, you really are a douchebag! I asked for pics on ebay, and you were too lazy to ever take any. I politely tried to buy this scoreboard from you several times. You were the one who threw away a sale. Just change your name to thejewster0, and call it a day! Have a good one.

thedrewster0
Quick to jump to conclusions, eh? Whos to say I even got that email on ebay. I dont remember getting any emails.

Lets grow up, Mmk?

Wow. If he didn't like the price he should have shut the hell up and looked elsewhere. I think he may lack negotiating skills...

ahhh that explains alot ,on the other thread i mean, so i guess your answer is yes we do have people like this on klov but he seems to have a thing for you, guessing he may know you under a differnt name

Well, personally I think your asking price for an untested part is insane. If a NEW part sells for $350, then a working but used part MAY sell for $200-250, but "untested" is usually synonymous with "not working", and should be sold as such. If you really want big money for it, find a way to test it. (BTW - "big money" is anything over $100 for a part.)

That's like me saying, "Hmm, a brand-new 27" tri-res monitors costs $700 from Happ. I have one I found under a tree. No idea if it works and can't test it, but I'll let you have it for the low low price of $500."

As for the rest, you got a little condescending, he got upset, and the rest went downhill...

Meh, just move on when someone acts this way. No need to give them the satisfaction of knowing they got under your skin enough to devote a thread to it.

Just basing my price on what I have seen other untested scoreboards sell for, thats all.

QFT!!!

I have nothing against this board, and I don't want to continue stirring the pot. It's not my intent to be some trouble causing troll. From my interactions with Drew between Ebay and here, I just don't like the guy. He's cocky and wants top dollar for crap. If you even try and negotiate, he turns into an ass or just doesn't reply at all. I won't be contacting him ever again, and it's all over with as far as I'm concerned. The road rage thread was just too good to pass up. Again, thank you mystery citizen from NV. Hahaha, have a good one guys!

I think you may need a maturity check of your own, drewster, for posting a thread like this. Really? A deal that wasn't negotiated to your liking deserves a thread bashing someone that rightfully thought your price was ridiculous?

Lets grow up, Mmk?

I agree with mod on the price, the scoreboard at 150 is WAY to much, but each can price how they want. I also thin mod is right on saying that you (drewster) was a little condencending, so i can see remarks like this guy said then.

It dont matter if the whole machine was 200 the day before, if that mattered, then you should have bought the whole machine. It cost time and money to part out games. I often part out games for more than what i sell them complete for

as for the comments ridgeracer is making, i think that the mods should bann this guy already. I believe in karme, what comes around goes around. But to wish physical harm because you didnt get a part for a price you want is unwaranted IMO. To say that you hope dewster doesnt get the next part he needs, thats fine. Ill even go as far as saying that i dont mind wishing physical harm if your actually at loss, had you have bought the scoreboard and he never sent it to you, then im fine with you wishing him harm

There was no ebay interaction. You never negotiated. You gave me a price and called my part a paperweight. That's not negotiating, that's lowballing. Learn some trading etiquette. But I am not going to wish personal harm on you like you did to me, I am not an asshole.

And to say that I turn into an ass or never reply means the world coming from a dude with less than 10 posts. You are now making shit up. As a matter of fact, you were the one who stopped replying to me.

There was Ebay interaction, several times. I guess you don't remember? Just like "maybe" you never read the emails. You know you did. You can't negotiate with you. You have a piece of shit and think it's gold. When someone offers a realistic price, like I did. You get all butt hurt about it. Even after all this, you just listed that damn scoreboard up for $139.99, LMAO. That's fine, you have the right to price things however you want. I just think you're ridiculous.

As far as post counts, do you really think I care? Honestly? Judging someone by there post counts, you are more pathetic than I originally thought. Just drop it already.

One last note, I didn't wish personal harm on you. That wouldn't be right, and could be considered a threat. I was merely applauding someone who had already done harm to you. There is a difference.

I'm done. Sorry KLOV.

I'll be honest, the "negotiation" seemed like completely normal "negotiation" to me. It's one thing to call a working part a paperweight, he said it "might be" which seems almost forgiving itself since general KLOV rule is untested=broken.

I just don't get it. Whenever someone posts a link to a Craigslist or eBay ad where someone is asking too much, everyone encourages them to ask what they feel is a fair price and that's just considerered how the game is played. Someone tries to sell an untested part for what generally seems to be seen as too much and someone tries to offer less... that seems completely normal by KLOV standards.

I can see how the exchanges after the deal was called off can be considered inappropriate, but I guess 'lowballing'/best offer seems like the norm here and I'm surprised it was taken so personally. I get lowballed all the time for tested and working stuff and I just list my final price and leave it there. Not trying to bash either party here, but I really am kind of confused now as to what is considered proper "negotiating," part of the time this stuff is considered the only way to buy and is suggested all the time on Craigslist threads and then a thread is made complaining about the concept. I can't blame the seller for rejecting what they saw as a low ball offer but I can't blame the buyer for level-headedly offerring less on what they saw as an overpriced untested item. I guess I just fail to see what the big deal is here...
