Before I pull the monitor out of the Millipede, I figured I would ask if anyone here knows how to get the chassis out without removing the whole monitor? I am going to try removing the bottom bracket on the frame when I get home tonight, but that is all I can think of without pulling the whole thing.

This is possible. I've done it. Just remove the hex screws and cross member at the bottom of the frame (towards your left). You got to get in there and remove the yoke wires of course...

Its tight... but it will come out.

Any tips/things to watch out for when doing a cap kit or working on this matsushita monitor? This is the first time I've run across one and from what I've read they are really junky?

I have pulled the chassis out too and all I can remember is to take your time because it is a tight fit. As far as the monitor itself be it is considered one of the worst monitors to work on. I capped a Matsushita with no difference and then I changed the flyback and it completely went. I put in a G07 and haven't had any problems since.

It's common for the CRT's in a Matsushita to be weak and need rejuvenation. I've only ever had one game that runs this monitor and that's my Pole Position. It definitely wasn't fun to work on, but a rejuvenation did wonders for the picture.

Well, as mentioned, it is possible to get the chassis out without pulling the monitor. It really isn't worth the effort though since the monitor is pretty easy to remove, and also easier to adjust sitting on a table.

I capped the monitor, but it still looks bad. I am going to try to rejuv it next weekend. The blue is just about gone. I can't get the horizontal position to move enough to center the image either. Depending on how the rejuv goes, I may swap the G07 from Gaplus into this game.
