Mata Hari, need blackglass & backbox, translite repro
Hello everyone,
A friend found a Mata Hari machine by the side of the road. I've been helping to restore it. It is the SS version. Playfield is in good condition with little wear, some paint cracking, plastics are excellent (oddly.) Backbox fell apart from water damage, but the boards are in fine condition.
The backglass is missing. The goal isn't to have the best original machine ever, it's to have a fun playing machine to share at various local game events.
First question, does anyone have experience having backglass art printed on translite material? What kind of printer is used? Are the repros mostly printed on wide format inkjet plotters?
Second, anyone have the backglass artwork scanned in high resolution for the Mata Hari? Or know a source for a translite repro? Is there a place to share these? If not, if I made one, would that be of interest?
Third, does anyone have a backbox/blackglass for the machine, they'd sell? Or perhaps a backbox from a similar machine that we can repaint. We're thinking about actually making a new backbox as well, since we have the old parts to use as a guide. But it would provide quicker turnaround if we could find a backbox & backglass.
Any help would be appreciated!
There are some logic errors, display errors, and the like that we also have to solve. So I'm pushing to get the electronics moved into a stable backbox so it can be worked on, with less risk of damaging stuff.
