Dude wants 175 for this. It's non working and obviously it was a "Street Fighter". Anyone know what the common issues are with these. Seller states it just doesn't turn on. Thats all the info I have.

What should I try and talk him down to. He wanted 200 at first. Now that I've seen the pics, I'm not so sure 175 is gonna do it either.

Thanks

It looks like a Virtua Fighter cab to me. If it has a functional MvC board and the monitor is the problem it would be worth at least $150.

Ask if it ever worked, VF came with a med res monitor and MvC needs standard res. Med Res monitors are worth more $, if he converted it and didn't know this then that may be all that is wrong with it.

According to the seller it worked fine, then one day it just didn't turn on.

OK, if nothing is turning on then it is likely a problem with the power block. Also, if the game was working then it will have a standard res monitor. Still, the MvC board and monitor are easily worth $150.

Just read about the suicide batteries. F-THAT SH*T! I want no part or any game that has those in them. The fix is way out of my knowledge base.

I'd like to give a big F*CK YOU to Capcom and Sega for employing that crap.

I just don't get it.

The fix before it suicides is a battery replacement - two solder points. The fix afterwards is a ROM swap. These are pretty simple things, though the ROM swap is expensive since you have to send it to the guy who created the Phoenix ROMs (not that I blame him). There are much more difficult repiars needed in this hobby...

Yeah I know...Still learning. Must have been the way the guy worded it on the site I was looking at. Seems like a real pain.

I've done 2 battery swaps on my SFA2 and SFA3 and they both work fine.

I have an AvP in my possession now (came with my showcase cab) that it's probably in my better interest to go ahead and replace it too.

the swap is very simple. but I have all the tools available to me to get the CPS2 cases open.

I'd be worried if that machine hasn't been powered on for a long time. that's what puts the mileage on the batteries. AC power keeps the board fresh and uses the batteries less.

if anything it'd be worth it just for the cab and monitor, permitting the game board did take a shit. though who the hell did the button layout? it's like way lower than the joysticks.

Don't bother with it. Too many question marks.

You can get the M vs Capcom board off ebay for under $100 with the A board included. I've bought lots of them off there. I have one right now.

You should be able to find a cab with a decent 25 inch monitor for $100-$150 if you look hard enough, drop in the board, maybe add some controls and you are all set.

That game sells a lot better around here than most of the classic games do nowadays.

I have to agree with everyone. The board could be dead if he doesn't want turn it on. If you want the game only, I would check ebay. Who knows maybe there's nothing inside.

Razoola is the one behind the Phoenix coding. There are also other ppl that have made "Phoenix type" images out there as well. Also Razoola will sell his files to ppl with proof of owning legit boards.

From the picture the cab looks really clean. I'd say $150 would be what I would offer only because the cab looks so clean. Check for water damage if you decide to head over and buy it. If the board is suicided I would disconnect it, turn the game on and turn up the brightness all the way just to make sure the monitor lights up. If it doesn't you can always fix the monitor but I would offer less :)
