There isn't much on this but a Twitter/X account has been launched for the upcoming MARS FPGA multi arcade board said to rival the Mister project. Its said to have full integrated JAMMA and features more superior hardware to the Mister.

In all seriousness though, it is good to see more people using Efinix's FPGA chips. I might be one of the first Efinix converts in Nov 22, switching from a Xilinx chip that was hit by chip shortages to the Efinix T20 for the reborn BitKit2.

If this new offering includes Jamma capability, and basically wraps all the Mister add-on boards into a single product, I'd be interested. I still have a DE-10 Nano in a box that I picked up for Capcom CPS 1 & 2 games (and maybe some Turbo16 & Genesis fun). It's still in the box because the Mister Jamma solution that looks the best (MisterCade) is $$ and always out of stock.

As for horsepower vs Mister, CPS 1 & 2 is about the limit of what I'm looking for and those games seem to already run great on the DE-10 Nano.

Interesting. Wonder whether it would have compatibility with one of the vector generator projects (although from what I've read--and I haven't tried any of them yet, so take it FWIW--most of the MISTer vector cores are pretty weak so far).

Saw this in person at Freeplay Florida. Excited about the possibility, but I'm in a wait and see mode. Just saw the games running on their fpga, but not sure if there is a frontend yet available, or if they plan on using the same frontend as Mister fpga.

I love my mister fpga (I have 2 of them), but I'm happy with mister for my needs, but if mars becomes a success, I'll happily buy it if it has the cores that I'm interested in that the mister can't run.

I currently don't use my mister for any real arcade cabinets, but considering it for the Neo Geo library (which is excellent on mister).

for $700 it better:
-have separated memory bus support so it can beat the mister for accuracy on neo-geo, cave & friends
-have an actual web site
-have actual support
-have a clear path for developers to move their mister cores over

If it did all the above 700 bucks would be a bargain but I'm with you.

Are we sure this is real?

"Next Generation VAPORWARE Alert?"

I mean, it's not exactly hiding - it's in plain sight.

Or have we redefined "vaporware?"
