I'm attempting to test a Series 2000 AE2600 acceptor here at the shop before driving down to install it in a machine for an operator. The unit powers up just fine and the dip switch settings are for 4-way, high acceptance, reject $2/$20, always enable, 4 pulses/dollar, and amusement configuration.

It takes dollars, but is only giving 2 credits per dollar. Changing the setting to one pulse per dollar fives one credit, so I know the switch works.

What I'm wondering is whether the issue is the game I connected it to. I have this Burgertime cocktail here, and use some jumper wires to connect it to power and the coin switch. According to the manual, the pulses are 50ms. Could it be that the pulses are coming too fast for the BT board to recognize them all? Unfortunately the manual does not show a way to change it so that the pulses are slower.

Now, the customer wants me to put this in a cab with a 60-in-1 PCB. Should I be concerned that the PCB won't recognize all 4 pulses also? Don't want to drive all the way down there only to have it not work...

Well, it worked with the 60-in-1. I figured I could adjust the coin settings of the 60-in-1 to compensate if it didn't, so I went down and installed it. Works just like it should...

On some Mars models, you have additional settings available by using the "configuration coupon" that you photocopy from the manual. You fill in the circles with a #2 pencil for the adjustments/settings you want. The configuration coupon overrides the dip switch settings.

Yeah, I checked that, but the coupon just had the same options as the dip switches, and nothing about long or slow pulses, just 1 pulse per dollar or four pulses per dollar. I think the Burgertime couldn't handle the pulse speed, but the 60-in-1 did just fine....
