Not a major issue, but perhaps a symptom of real problems to come, I noticed last night that the marquee light on my MK cab came up like.. a whole minute after the cabinet powered on. I was actually playing and I was surprised by the sudden flash when it light up

Is the light fixture inside going back or could it be something else? I restarted the machine several times but I was not able to reproduce the problem.

Bad starter or weak bulb. It's just a fluorescent light fixture, and uses standard bulbs and starters. Take a look at the bulb - if it's starting to get dark at the ends then it's getting old. It's also possible to have a flaky starter - it's just a little twist-in module, next to, or behind the bulb.

Starters cost about a buck, bulbs are a 7 or 8 dollars. Available at the hardware store.

Yup, sounds like the culprit. Usually an FS2 starter. Replace the bulb and the starter and that should do it. If you still have problems, then you may need to replace the ballast, but that's only another $7 and 5 minutes of time.

Home Depot has complete 18" fixture for $8.99 (with bulb). I've been getting sick of chasing little marque light issues and just replacing them them these. Almost cheaper than a bulb.

I just put one in a DK (3) and it's working perfectly with the 100Watt plug

Had the same issue on two of my cabs recently. Changed the starters and they now come on very quickly like they should. Start there.

I tend to replace both the starter and the bulb. It alway seems when I just replace one or the other the other start to fail on me and I have to open it up again.
