incrediblegamez alerted me to a wide body on the Pittsburgh craigslist the other night very shortly after it had been posted. (Thanks again by the way) I've been actively looking for a Mario Bros for about a year.
I called immediately and left a voice mail. I woke up the next morning, and still had yet to receive a call back, so I e-mailed him. He replied back telling me someone had offered him more money and wondered if I would give him more. I immediately responded back basically talking about integrity and what not, and how messed up it was. If he wanted to do an auction, take it to eBay. I'd say we went back and forth over e-mail at least 7 or 8 replies. I finally gave up, told him good luck with his auction, and basically forgot about it.
He got back to me later that evening and wanted to know where I was coming from and if I had a truck. I said I did, and I could come asap, with cash. He said that was fine, and I was the first to get ahold of him anyway and I set up the time. I'm not sure if something actually fell through on his end or he realized he should do the right thing. I scheduled with him to drive out really early the next morning.
It's in amazing shape, especially for the price. The monitor definitely needs capped, which someone even wrote ON THE MONITOR. Though a little touch up paint, some buttons, and a control panel overlay and I think we'll call it a day. I kind of like the cabs down there having the used and broke in look. It's not a show room, it's an arcade.
To top it all off, the most amazing thing may be that it has the serial number 80!
