I guess I am late to the party, but I just saw this today. I've gotta get one of these babies...

They are still on the high side as I see them in arcades still. I think the last one that came up for auction I remember ended up in the thousands. 1600-2000$ or so, range.

I'd get one just for shits, but compared to the home versions, they're not very good. I heard the second one was better than the first, but I haven't played it.

It is possible to play MarioKart GP and GP2 on a modified Wii.. I'd easily pay $2k for a twin, but haven't seen them under $10k...

Yup, 2k for a twin isn't bad, but I was referring to that price for a single. They still aren't cheap, and honestly I find the home versions to be a lot better. I would put my money for a Hydrothunder sit down or a Rush the Rock, personally.

For some reason I really want a Cruis'n USA. The game is terrible by today's standards, but I'd love to have one.

Never played the second, but Mario Kart Arcade GP is one of the worst arcade racers I've played, and that's coming from a huge fan of the series overall. The camera and Pac Man characters are fun gimmicks but the game is very lacking. Play one before you spend anything on one.

Sweet baby Jeebus!

Last I checked, these hadn't even been dumped yet. Let alone "emulated" on a friggin' Wii!
Just Goog'd and read up on this, and I'm pumped. Time to dust off (literally, haven't turned it on in a year or two) the old Wii.

Played the second one, and it was terrible. Not even remotely like the console versions. The items are even different! Definitely not worth the money, coming from a huge nintendo fan. It's honestly a boring racer with nintendo characters. Basically a turd with sprinkles.

This. Pretty sure my Wii is still modded (been so long since I used it that I can't remember) but it'll be cool to try this out.

Agreed 100%... I play it when I see it, because I REALLY want to like it, but it's bad. And I think Mario Kart is one of the greatest game series' made. There's only a few items, they're dumb (shell, tornado thing, and something else I think), and the announcer is ANNOYING. Just watch this video (running on the Wii) and you'll understand:

Ugh, yeah, that looks terrible. Do away with the announcer and maybe it's playable...to a degree. I skipped around a bit and every track looked the damn same to me.

Jesus, that announcer is bad. Who thought that was a good idea?

Whoo, WTF? I mean, at start of race it was OK, but announcing each item or time you hit coins? Horrible!

Too bad, another 'good idea, sunk by devs who don't know how to NOT over-do it'.

This game looks fun but it is not. Very boring and the tracks are lame.
