Mario Kart GP wheel error?

For what it's worth, the force feedback of the steering wheel is not turning the steering wheel when you turn the game on

I've seen those io boards fail on more than one occasion. Have you checked it for a bad component? (or bad fuse even..)

Which components could make it go bad? Which fuse, the 2 that are soldered to the board or the in line ones?

What is interesting on this particular machine, is that we can go into the game options and turn force feedback off. Doing so makes it skip the wheel test as part of the POST.
The game will actually play, minus the force feedback, so the data from the pots is making it through to the IO board and to the triforce "pc"

In your experience, is there are hope of repairing this steering board or is it always a replace situation?

We pulled the board and it "looked" really-super clean, as scientific as that is. :)
No scarring around the cap or anything. Both fuses on the board have continuity through the fuse.

I'm constantly having wheel error issues on one of our Mario kart. I have checked the steering board, everything tests fine, Check connections, replaced the potentiometer, check the fuse. Basically everything except purchasing a new board....at a cost of $895
