What's up guys? New to this forum so this is my first post. I'm really a pinball guy. I usually have between 9 to 13 machines but just dropped down to 7 cause my 6 year old isn't really into pinball yet. I got lucky and was able to scoop up 2 Mario Kart GP full size arcade machines. They were supposed to be completely working. They basically were. Both machines booted up ran the checks and were able to start games. Camera works fine. The item button didn't work on either game. I figured I would dig to find the fault cause it's a simple design with those switches. The first one was an easy fix.... Just had to solder two wires together. Not sure if this was worked on before but I'm guessing it was. The light wasn't working and I only have AC bulbs for my pins. I temporarily used one of my pin leds and it worked fine but I don't want to leave it in there and will order the proper bulb.

On to the other machine, I figured that it would probably be the same thing. Went to take off the steering wheel and find that there is only one wire attached but it had been snipped. The rest of the wires were buried inside. I'm not sure if someone attempted to work on this and just failed miserably or if there is something seriously wrong. The coating appears melted. The wires look a lot thinner than the other side of the connector. I'm thinking that if it was a serious issue the other side of the wire would be melted as well.

First question is what do you guys think?

Second, what type of connectors are these? It's has 15 spots on it. On my pins I really only deal with molex or Idc connectors. I'll need to buy the connectors and any other supplies that are needed.

Third, what size wire should I buy?

The switch was in the cabinet just sitting there. I'd prefer to order a new one cause it looks bent up. Where is a good place to buy these. I usually order my pinball stuff from Marco specialties.

Any other input would be appreciated.

Only other issue is that these big bastards didn't fit through my game room door. I contacted my friend to tell him I need to widen the opening. It's happening this week. I like to fix things myself but I have to learn on arcade games now.

without seeing the connectors apart i would guess molex 5025 series but post a picture of the connector apart. you should also check out our site for arcade and pinball kits/components/connectors.

Here are the pics. I need to find out what to order for the connector, pin removal, new pins and insertion tool. Any help would be great.
