So I'm just about done playing Mario Kart 7. Overall, it was fun and challenging (Getting 3-star on 150cc/150cc Mirror is near impossible. Got 3-star on 150cc Mirror Lightning Cup). I'd say a good 8.5/10 because of those things.

I think my only qualms about it is that there was nothing really "new" to it. The hang gliding and undersea racing was cool I guess, but half the tracks were still regurgitated from previous Mario Kart games. The additional characters were kind of meh. I think they could have done more customizable options. Just wasn't all that impressed.

This got me thinking, maybe they have something amazing planned for the next Mario Kart game on Wii U (Launch title for Holiday 2012 maybe?).

The original Mario Kart on SNES released in 1992. How awesome would it be if they released a 20th anniversary edition that included ALL NEW tracks plus ALL tracks from previous Mario Kart games? Just to make it even more interesting, give gamers the option to switch between racing/game modes (Ex. reg. v. double dash) and have dozens of characters including Link, Samus, Pikachu, Fox, etc.

All of this is highly unlikely, but still...:D

Can you find me?

Alternate screens after you complete the game all the way through. Not sure how many there are.

Nice thinking (I was thinking the same thing recently), but Nintendo isn't known for doing such things. Which is a damn shame, really.

All I want is one of these games to rehash the N64 Rainbow Road, damn it.

My kids just started playing Mario Kart 7 today.....they seem to be enjoying it so far. Of course, they are considerably younger than you are!
