I've just installed a Mario Bros harness that I bought from ebay as the original was mostly missing / hacked up (as it was converted to something else). The auction said it was complete / unhacked but of course that is not the case, both control panel harnesses are wrong. I am starting to think maybe none of it was originally for Mario Bros but with some original connectors and wiring still in the cabinet I've been able to wire it up minus the controls, power for the lamps and coin 2.

As dumb as it sounds I am trying to wire it up as original as possible rathen than just bodge the last few connections, does anyone know if coin 2 was ever connected at the harness or did Nintendo just connect up coin 1 twice? my edge connector for coin 2 pin doesn't have a wire.

Lastly the +5v for the lamps in the coin door is not connected and I cannot see how it would have been, again don't really want to bodge it and would like to know where it originally connected if anyone could check for me.

I've attached a picture (not mine) but it shows what I have circled but then about half way down the harness the wire for +5v isn't connected to any thing.

It's possible it's a Mario Bros harness but not for a widebody and they're different? there's a bunch of earth wires but it seems over kill when the cabinet has all those green straps?

the standard (non widebody) harness is definitely smaller/shorter than a widebody harness.

Looking at the wide body manual and the Pak manual the part numbers for the main harness is the same it is listed as.
TMAU-41-16
UP 44P-044 Edge Connecting Harness.
Both harnesses show in the schematics that the 5v for the lamps on the coin door are yellow for the ground to lights and coin switch and Orange for the + the brown is coin 1 and red is coin 2, you say there is no orange to the coin door or is it cut in the harness

Thanks for the pictures @Onji those are very helpful to figure out where exactly everything should go. As for the two cut / missings wires I'd just like to know how and where they connect exactly, should coin 2 even be connected? the manual shows it is but that doesn't always mean they didn't just bridge coin 1 to both mechs in the factory.

I cannot see how the 5v for the bulbs could have connected originally with this harness, I think I'll have to cut a 5v wire and use a crimp to add the extra wire but before I do that it would be nice to know how it was originally.
