Does anyone have any cabinet plans for the Mario Bros widebody? I downloaded the Jakobud plans. They are not even remotely correct. I have a widebody cabinet that is in horrible shape and before I went through making the plans, I figured that I would try to find some online. I'd even be willing to trade some green paper bills for it. :)

Anyone? Please help!!!

Zork40 made a 3D model of it, which should be fairly accurate to digitally 'measure'. Check Google sketchup thread on the main page here and open his collection. Of course, this will be of no use to you, if you require interior cuts and measures.

The model looks great but it's not accurate either. Thanks though. I want to cnc router a new cabinet because my cabinet is completely water damaged.

I heard Nintendo also made a dedicated version of Mario Bros.
Wonder what that looks like.

Is there anyone in Southern California who has a Mario Bros Widebody that would let me measure and take pictures of their cabinet? My cabinet is in bad shape and I'm not quite certain that it is all correct.

Okay. Well, I've started drawing up the plans for this cabinet from my Mario Bros widebody cabinet. As far as my measurements, I am within +/- 1/32". I figure that for wood, that is good enough. If you are looking to make a cabinet. DO NOT use the Jakobud drawings. They are not accurate. They are just an expanded standard cabinet.

I need some measurements and pictures of the bottom box that the cabinet sits on as well as the placement of the wheels. Can anyone help me out?

Seems to be going well. Things are fitting together nicely. There are a few things I'd like to change on the next one but hey... Not a bad first attempt.

The jakobud plans are not correct. They are simply a widened nintendo cabinet. The widebody is not the same shape. I have to make adjustments to my file but I will upload the file when I have it completely dialed in. There are definitely changes that I would make if I were to do this again.

In the meantime, I've ordered this paint as a close match to the Nintendo Orange. It's a RAL paint called Bright Red Orange RAL 2008. It's a single stage automotive paint. It takes a bit to dry but that is a good thing. It allows it to lay down extremely flat. It uses 4:1 ratio for hardner and 4:1:1 ratio for accelerator. It will polish and buff out and end up very durable. I plan to primer and sand the bare formica sides this weekend and paint. We'll see how it goes.

Oh okay. Yeah, I never used Jakobud, so that's good to know.

As far as paint matches. It's hard to tell sometimes because you never know how much cabs have faded or discolored over the years, but you can get a pretty accurate match if you pull from the inside of the cab and it looks like you did.

I went with Behr Premium for my DK as well as a Vs. Unisystem I used to have and both turned out great. But probably not as great as yours will since you're using some heavy duty stuff. :)
