Mario Bros (wide body) Side Art & Control Panel Overlays

Looking for Side Art & Control Panel Overlays. PM me if you have any?

I have two questions here.

1) I have the small body Mario Bros. Anybody know where to find a overlay for the smaller, orange Mario Bros. arcade game?

2) Do you guys know if a Popeye PCB will fit in a Mario Bros. arcade cabinet and work? I know the control panel will have to be swapped out to have a 4 way joystick.

I'm not sure about CPO but the wiring harness between the 2 games are completely different.

Popeye will NOT work in a MARIO bros.

Good luck.

That's right!

I use a Popeye pcb in my Mario Bros. widebody cab, no problem.

And you don't have to swap the control panel. Just use the control panel harness from a Vs. control panel, and replace the 2-way plate on your Mario Bros. 1st player joystick with a 4-way restrictor plate (or you can use no restrictor plate), and you're set.

Thanks guys for all the good info. I have the smaller Mario Bros. cabinet but I also have a Donkey Kong so maybe the DK control panel will work in the Mario Bros. cabinet and thus solve the problem of a 2-way joystick??

Guess the guy in AZ knows a little bit too...

You'll burn your Popeye running on a MB power supply and vice versa...2 different PS are used.

Popeye does not require all the voltages present in Mario Bros that is true but I have never had one "burn" while running it in the machine. I assume you mean it blackened your edge connector on the lines that are getting power but not used on the Popeye pcb? I could see how this might happen although it has not been my experience when running a popeye in my mario bros machine off and on now for over a decade.

" You know what bothers me? "

WRONG. Mario will not play in a popeye cab unless you either +5 or -5. You will get sound and some graphics but the characters wont be there.

While I did say "either" we WERE talking about Popeye in a Mario Bros. The pinouts are the same but Popeye does not have the voltages you mention on the ps in the stock cabinet. Although I have had at least 2 popeyes over the years that did have DK PS's in them that were stock. I also mentioned that difference in my last post but nice try Columbo. :p
