Okay picked this up for a friend last night and decided to mess with it today, its a dedicated (non widebody) if that makes any difference, upon powering up all I get is a white screen, no noise (but thats due to speaker wires being disconnected) and I have actually pulled the working PSU from my PC10 (that has the 9P and 10P) connectors and this is known working as my PC10 is fully functional, and still the same problem, I have reseated and also tried swapping out the Z80 and same effect, just a plain white screen, I did a search and found someone that had left the game on for a while and it then booted, I have also tried this, and nothing

removed batteries, no corrosion it appears

any thoughts, help? thanks

Probe the z80 chips with a logic prob. If you don't have one then you may just want to replace them chips. I have fixed many boards just by changing out the z80 chips. Also, make sure they are the right ones...z80 in where a z80a should be.

Hook up the audio and see if it plays blind. If it does check the color PROMs ...

also, if the sound is unhooked, which does run to the monitor, have you verified the video cable is plugged in? that could get you a white screen.

Hey Mick! A different nintendo game but had the same white screen problem on a friends VS Mario board a few months back. I cleaned the bejezus out of all the ROMs, sockets and PPU. It took a long while but eventually.. whalaa mario!
