I'm looking @ a Mario Bros. cabinet that was set up as a Super MB. Subsequently (E-Bay) purchased Mario Bros. boards are included, but have not yet been hooked up.
Is this usually an easy swap? What "gotcha's" should I be looking for?

you would need completely different everything for that switch over. Super Mario Uses a Different PS, VS Wiring, Different control Panel.

I personaly would'nt do that inless it was a DK Cab ? Or you had a WB Mario Brothers cab waiting for that stuff too be installed into it.

Nope. It's a "restored" WB Mario Brothers cab that's running Super MB.
The cabinet looks really nice (pictures anyway), but I've very little interest in Super MB.
That said, a Mario Bros. would complete my Nintendo "want to have list".

Agreed- convert it back. Depending on what you need, it could be a bit pricey to do so though.

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about.
He wants $400 for it as is - including the Mario Bros. boards... I saw a Super MB this morning in an orange standard nintendo cabinet (w/2 stick CP) for $200.
No side art... did Super MB ever have side art?

I believe SMB only came on the VS and Playchoice platform. 400 is pretty high IMO. Thats what Id prolly get for my restored WB.

$400 is a bit steep if it doesn't run MB currently. If he's including a Mario Bros. board, then maybe. It all depends on condition of the Wide Body cab and if you have all the original parts to run Mario Bros.

Most Vs. games were conversion kits. So Vs. Super Mario Bros. (or any other Vs. game) never had it's own side art. Only the generic Vs. Unisystem art. So if you saw a standard orange Nintendo cabinet, it's most likely originally a DK Jr. that was converted to Vs. Super Mario Bros.

Here's an example of my old Vs. Unisystem cab that I restored and sold:
