This one wasn't as bad as some of the other projects. Started off in working condition, needed some cosmetics done to the cab.

Dude, that BLOWS!! You messed up the CPO??? Suck! That's my worst fear. Putting those things on is nerve racking. I remember Mario Bros. being a bear. The last CPO I did was Burger Time and I tried the masking tape method. I taped it in place then undid the masking tape in one area at a time and the other tape helped keep it in place. Worked well. Try it.

And.. great work!! Looks fantastic. Is that black paint in the front? The orange looks excellent.

Yes, the CPO got me upset to say the least! First time in all these games that I "rushed" it and payed the piper! At least it can be fixed with new stuff.

The black is also painted. I used a semigloss enamel for the front and a rattle can semi for the inside black.

Also, ended up powdercoating all the metal (coindoors, coin bezels, marquee brackets, etc). I like the look and know in my head that it will never have to be touched up again. Do it right the first time! :)

The painting turned out well. Thanks for the props!

Thought I might use the vinyl that I got from TOG, but not on this one!

Nice work!

Same as Greg, I hope mine turns out that way. I have all the parts and the game works fine. Just have to take the time to sand, paint, and put it all back together. Ugh.

Man, that looks nice.

My widebody is a basket case and needs a good amount of bondo work. It'll be a while before I get to start on it as I have others in line before it, but I will be very happy to see mine looking this good.

My biggest obstacle is finding a pristine widebody bezel. You look like you found one, that bezel looks great. I wish someone would reproduce it.

Ok, now the CP is finished. Took the time and applied this one correct! 2nd times the charm...

Also plays Popeye perfect! A different kind of Multigame. ;)

That looks awesome, So since it also plays Popeye, I'm guessing the left joystick is a 4 way? How does that affect the playabilty of MB? or does it at all?

Thanks!

The left joystick is an 8way. Plays Popeye perfectly, just not for me! I'm still learning the game, can only get to level 3...

As for MB, the joystick doesn't make a difference. It only goes to the left and right, you'd never notice unless you pushed up or down. No effect on the game though...

Right joystick is still 2way.

Man, when I was building my Popeye it had an 8 way restrictor (Vs joystick) and it caused me all sorts of trouble when going up ladders and stuff so I put a 4 way plate in it and it's sooo much better now. You may have better luck playing the game if you put a 4 way in there.

That looks great, very nice job!! The orange paint looks great, more accurate than my orange laminate which is just a hair darker.

Why did you paint/powdercoat the silver parts on the coin door? They looked good to begin with and usually they can just be cleaned/polished. I cleaned mine and they literally look like new. Had the chrome come off of yours? (I didn't see that in the before pics.)

Very nice. I like these so much it makes me want to restore another one!

Thanks, I appreciate it!

The orange is based off of the Kumquat from Home Depot. I ended up matching it using oil...it does look really really close to the original. :)

If you look closely at the original pics, the flaps were rusted in a few spots. Very minor, but hey, since I was going to do it right, I ended up powdercoating them too. Very difficult to powder potmetal (I'm finding out with my Tapper cup holders) but since they are so small, not an issue. I've done it on my Punch Out and now MB. For me, they couldn't be buffed out...Starting on a Super Punch Out, pics to come!

I like to get it right the first time. I hate taking apart any coin door more than once.

Re:

Nice! Where did you get the side art and CPO? Whats the orange paint code, and what kind of paint did you use? I think mine is missing the wheels on the back along with my base... and thanks for posting pics of the bottom!
