I've got this Mario Bros. PCB I'd like to trade for a Popeye or a Vs. Super Mario Bros. I would be willing to chip in a reasonable amount in cash to make up for any difference in value.
I would also sell it outright for $50.00 shipped (to lower 48 only).
Here's the thing with this PCB. It works 95%, game play is fine, scoring during your game is fine, but the high score table shown during the attract mode has a glitch: it will make a 20,000 score look like 120,000.
Also, on occasion you'll get a sprite issue where a fast moving shell or crab flickers, or an upside down crab will appear as a white block. This second glitch is intermittent, rare (you may not see it every game), and does not affect game play. It's so hard to catch that I couldn't get a picture of it.
Lastly, immediately on boot-up you get these weird dots and overlaps in the attract mode. Once the attract mode cycles once this symptom goes away entirely. This one is really minor and I'm only mentioning it in the interest of full disclosure.
I have done nothing to troubleshoot the board other than removing, cleaning the legs of, and reseating the removable chips. It may be as simple as burning a new EPROM. I have no clue.
Here are pictures of the PCB in operation and of the glitches. I can provide additional pics upon request.
Here's the PCB in action showing a high score of 41,230
Here's the high score table showing the 41,230 score as 141,230 (note the "5TI" place instead of "5TH" place). Also note the 5,400 score showing as 105,400.
Here's the screen immediately after boot-up (note the overlapping and the dots) the blurring is my camera and the backwards "Mario Bros." text is correct, it flips itself around a little later in the attract mode.
