Last Friday I picked up a Mario Bros(needs a cap kit). I don't care much for the game so I would like to put a Super Mario Bros in it. What all do I need to run the board? Will the original wiring and power supply work. I know I'll need a different control Panel for the up,down, and extra button. Any info would be helpful. Thanks Long Hair

I haven't seen a Vs. wiring harness in a while, but doesn't it have the P.S. connectors on it?

I hope to one day get a Mario Bros. in a DK cabinet. There was one in a store when I was 12 or 13. I would ride my bike across town to play it. Back when I had my DK, I even thought about getting a Mario Bros. kit. It already had the bolt holes for the horizontal monitor brackets.

To do this you'd have to re-wire the cabinet. The two games have different pin-outs.

You can use the same PP7B power supply and the same transformer. You'll need a Vs. control panel, and the entire unisystem wiring harness.

You might give the original Mario Bros. a little play. I think overall its better than Super Mario Bros.

Kinda debatable since SMB is a great platform game but the original Mario Brothers it's really fun on two player when you can mix it up with someone.

Thanks for all the reply's.I'm thinking if it takes rewiring the cab, I might leave the Mario Bros alone and use a pit boss bar top I picked up. I'm sure I can wire the SMB to work with a switching power supply.

You can run a Nintendo VS. board on a switcher without any issues. It does use inverted video.....so, depending on what monitor you have in the Pit Boss.....you'll have to work around that.

The Monitor is a K7000, I read a sticky on how to invert this monitor so I should be covered on that.

Was looking at the wiring harness that came with the Vs SMB and noticed it had a board that inverts the video and audio amp all in one. Hooked it up and I have a good pic. I believe the board is an AV-01,and it was used in the PAC-MAN to Vs. conversion kit. So that should make things easier on me,I noticed the video wasn't the best so I'm going to do a recap on the inverter board and see if that helps.
