Mario Bros Cabaret - Restoration / Conversion

Awesome work man- I love custom projects like this!

Thanks... I'll have a keychain order coming to you soon too. I have a couple more cabs that I want to pick up then I should be sending an order your way.

Very tastefully done.

Thanks... I tried to keep it simple, especially on the cpo as not to clutter up the small area too much.

THAT LOOKS FANTASTSIC! Great Job, i like it better than the widebodys!

:) I would agree with that too. Plus it's a lot easier to move around!

Wanna build me one? :D

Flat out best cabaret ever.

Thanks! I've had a few people ask about this already so if anybody wants the custom art files I used for the CPO and Bezel I can send them out. I matched the paint from the Widebody and the Side Art was just GoG's Mario Bros file reduced to 16"x24". Not to promote the destruction of KLAX cabaret cabs... but I'm happy with the conversion.

I'll second this. Great work on this one.

Thanks

This would fit in nicely with my custom Ninty cabarets. I really like the fact that we are evolving this hobby beyond just what was done 25-30 years ago. I am not a huge fan of MAME stuff, but these custom what-the-factory-could-have-would-have-should-have-done projects are really invigorating me. We need to start making flyers for these games when they are finished.

I am not a fan of the minis/cabaret cabinets, but I have to say this looks 100% better than all of the factory minis/cabarets cabinets I have seen. Really well done. Sticks to the original theme, not gaudy with stickers all over it. Looks clean. I like aftermarket things that look like they should have been there to begin with and this game just looks like it should have been produced.

That looks amazing. I love minis and you custom looks better than the original mini cabs. You and Phet are pioneers of our hobby.

Really a fantastic cab. I would gladly have that in my basement.

My 6 yr old asked me "why is mario's hat blue?" After doing a little investigating I found out there have been several different mario color schemes. Never new that.

Thank you and thanks for sharing that pic. I can place each of the color schemes after seeing them but wouldn't have thought of them without the pic.

Dude that is sick, well done!!

Thanks :)

I finally grounded the monitor the other day. That was the only thing wrong with it... the picture was a little wavy. I totally forgot that the power line to the monitor in the cab didn't have a ground wire.

That's a great job. The machine would be a great addition to any collection!

I don't think I've ever seen a cab like that before. Was it originally a Klax?

Yep... the KLAX mini cab.

Amazing looking project, well done.
I like (like others have said) that you stuck with the original concept/art but made it work to fit your project.

I have no issue with MAME and wanted to do a Mario Bros themed MAME cabinet, this has served as true inspiration.

Awesome job !
