Mario Bros art went up in price..

Supply and demand unfortunately. No one else has it in stock. I can't get myself to spend almost half of what I've spent on my MBWB altogether. Maybe eventually when AS gets them back in stock or Phoenix lowers their price. Or I can suck it up so my MB can be complete. :)

EDIT: It looks as though AS has them in stock ($95) unless they haven't updated their website.

Arcadeshop sells it for $95 and it is not "B" stock.

Has anyone seen the Mario side art from mamemarquees? I purchased their cpo and was very happy with it. If phoenix is just going to print it then it might be worth checking out mamemarquees for $67.99

Whoa, is that true, is Phoenix Arcade selling an INKJET print?? (From the desc on their website, it appears so...) Anyone know for sure? I thought I'd read several times that PA was selling their usual silkscreened repros.

I hope not. If so their price is too high IMO.

I found out it is definately going to be Silkscreened. Pricey but I need it, sounds like they will be in production first week of May.

I bet they are not... I bet it just sounds that way since they are using words commonly associated with inkjet printing...

It says:

Mario Brothers Side Art

15 color solvent print on vinyl with 3M adhesives.

"Solvent print" = inkjet - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7VmMBzcuJI

The "15 colors" probably has something to do with it. For screen printing, he would need to create 15 screens, and of course, screen print each piece of side art 15 times. I'm surprised that anyone has reproduced Mario Bros. sideart via screen printing. Screen printing for 15 colors would be very labor-intensive, which = $$$.

Mario Side Art doesn't have 15 colors. It means the printer has 15 colors and it divides the colors up differently using multiple colors and instead of in solid colors like screen printing.

There is no such thing as a 15 color inkjet. Inkjets are normally CMYK (4 color).

Mario Bros. sideart does have 15 colors BTW. Open the image in Photoshop and count them.

I actually don't have a response. I haven't looked at the art closely.

I really doubt it has 15 solid colors. You are probably seeing some of the colors that are printing with half-tones so it looks like more colors than it really is. So, I just dismissed the fact that it has 15 colors. I could be completely wrong and those crazy bastards screened it with 15 plates.

And, I know a local print shop by me has some 15 or 17 color digital press we use and I just figured that 15 color solvent thing is just like that. It converts the CMYK (and even RGB) files to its multi-color format just like my home inkjet that has 6 ink cartridges. But, really, I am just guessing. :)
