Marco's messed up my order!

So I finally broke down and ordered a set of pinscore displays for my Pinbot from marco specialties. I have wanted these things for forever and a day and I get them today and instead of giving me 4 alphanumeric displays the package came with 4 numeric displays only! The kicker is I finally ordered these things to get them by Saturday for a block party we are having. I called marco's but it was a half hour past their closing time, so I left a voice mail and I am going to email them shortly here. Has anybody else had this happen to them? Anybody know if Marco's will overnight me a set of the correct displays so I have them by this weekend?
 
Not sure if they will overnight them, but remember they are human and make mistakes. I would call them first thing in the morning when they open and talk with them.

I'm pretty sure you need 2 alpha's and 2 numeric for Pinbot.
 
Yeah I understand they are human and make mistakes, I am too, so I'm not going to get angry with them. I just hope they make it right and understand I was really hoping to have these things by this weekend. I will even offer to pay for return shipping for the wrong displays if it helps to get the right ones here for me right away. Just more curious if this has happened to anybody else from Marco's and what their reaction was.

As for the displays the original ones are 2 alphas and 2 numerics, but for the pinscores the new driver board is setup for 4 alphas and the lower 2 just don't light up at all in the extra spots.

Yeah the 10877-p is exactly what I ordered.

I ordered some parts from Marco awhile back. Had to ship them overnight as I needed them for a repair. They forgot to include a few eproms and some other misc parts. It was about $5 worth of parts.

When I called, they made a big deal about shipping the missing parts via overnight. Lady kept saying that they would be taking such a huge hit. Finally told me that she would try her best to get them out. Few hours later I got a email with tracking number for a overnight shipment. Got the parts the next day.
 
Well I called this morning and first they verified I ordered the right kit and verified that the rest of their stock was good. They wanted to either have me send back the wrong ones and then they would send out new ones, or charge my card again and credit me back once I sent the wrong ones back. I explained to the girl that this wasn't my mistake and I wasn't going to pay again and watch for a credit, and I needed them by Saturday so I didn't like the first option either. I didn't get mad or rude, just explained what the deal was. They ended up offering to ship me another set with a fedex box inside and just send the wrong ones back to them when I get them. They are sending them priority mail, so I should get them in time for Saturday I hope. It ended up I didn't make a big stink about sending them overnight since the originally wanted me to pay for a second set of them but didn't make me. Hopefully this all works out well in the end.

I see, I haven't ever seen the pinscores. Thought it might save you a few bucks.
 
I just received a rather large order of misc. parts, and they forgot to put in the replacement rubber kit in the box. Everything else was there, but it's going to put off my shop job for another 3-4 days.
 
Welcome to the Marcos-screwed-up club.

I ordered a ramp flap from them, along with an expensive rivet tool and a bunch of rivets. I expressly put on the order notes that if the ramp flap wasn't available, hold everything else until it came in. Marcos shipped out the tools and the rivets, and then canceled the order for the ramp flap saying they no longer stocked it. The tool was to install the ramp flap. Don't expect them to pay much attention to anything on an order, much less any notes you include. They don't seem to care.
 
I am still shocked that they didn't bring any of the Pinscore displays with them to sell at CAX. I was going to buy a set for High Speed. They said they would ship them for free if I ordered at the show, but they really don't seem to understand an impulse buy.

People do make mistakes, but from this thread, it sounds like Marco makes them pretty often, and is not overly concerned about fixing them quickly. If a company screwed up my order then wanted me to send back the original order before they ship the new one, I would not order from them again. That is just bad customer service.
 
then why is it here at all ?

I feel that the deals going bad section is a section for deals between KLOV'rs only. I put this into the pinball section because Marco's is a pinball retailer, and I wanted the pinball guys here to read about my experience.

On a good note the second set of displays did show up yesterday and all was correct. They went in good and worked and look great.
 
Marco is a great resource for buying parts and i'm glad they are there

i have only ordered from marcos 1 time. my order was right and i got it fast. i do agree that shipping costs from them are a bit high.
 
Overall the Marco prices are higher than everyone else on most everything, including their shipping. The only screw ups I have had from them have been on Rubber Kits. I've since learned EVERYONE else screws up the rubber kits too though.

The flip side is Marco carries most every part I ever need. It's frustrating as hell because I spend a lot of effort shopping around and when I'm placing an order I have to kick out so many of the other vendors because they don't have one of the parts I need on the order. It then becomes a game of whether the 2nd shipping charge from someone else can be offset by the lower prices they have.

My current frustration is with Bay Area Amusements. They have a nice deal going on for LED Displays that have a very good discount on them if you buy $150 worth of other stuff. I have about that much in other parts I need to buy, yet they don't have hardly ANY of the other parts I need. I'll be lucky to find $20 worth of other stuff from them, let alone the $150 needed to get the discounted display price....

That was not my intention at all when I created this thread. I just ordered my first order with them, and it was screwed up, I was in a time pinch, so I wanted to know other peoples experiences with them in the past under similar circumstances. They turned around and made everything right, so I will definitely give them my business again.
